Alder is grounded in the exceptional made accessible, with a menu offering original takes on timeless dishes and preparation styles. For his dishes, Chef Patrick draws inspiration from traditions and techniques long-practiced in and around the Mediterranean, applying a deft touch to thoughtfully sourced ingredients, accenting and elevating flavors found in nature. The kitchen, centered around a wood-fired grill, prepares dishes intended to delight, sustain and nourish.

Added to the 2023 Toronto Michelin Guide, Alder is a warm and protected place to be, like just the right distance from a bonfire.

Enjoy a specially curated four-course dinner by Michelin-starred Chef Patrick Kriss, paired with choice selections from Pearl Morissette's celebrated catalogue. This is a ticketed event, priced at $225 per person (plus tax). A $50 deposit is required at the time of booking, which will be applied to the final bill. My food had hair in it. I ordered the dock and the chicken was not cooked was bloody.. Manager was nice. Discounted the both those meals and gave us a free dessert.

Overall not impressed. I’ve had better food and service in restaurants around the city without a Michelin star. Server was rushing us and the place wasn’t even half full. Won’t be dining here again.

Had a lovely night taking coworkers here for their first experience at Alder. Staff was attentive to the service, but were not hovering. The food on all accounts was superb beyond their reputation. I continue to look forward to the next time I visit.

Alder is always an excellent experience. The staff is friendly and skilled…and the food is inventive and stylish. And always delicious. Will definitely be back!

Phenomenal food, ambience and service. This place is worth the hype and the real deal. Everything from the wine recommendation by the server to the apps and main were bang on.

We booked this place for our anniversary. Though we mentioned this in the reservation, it was not acknowledged (so why bother asking?). The service was very slow despite not being busy, and the food was rather lackluster. The oysters were tiny, and the short rib was essentially just overcooked, compressed, dry meat. The way it was plated had us thinking the chef just decided 'here's your slab o'meat' and certainly not dressed to impress. I don't even know if there was any flavouring besides salt & pepper. Not really worth the expensive price tag.

Enjoyed another excellent meal at Alder which included the pasta and halibut. We were happy to be served again by Maia, who was warm and attentive, along with Pepper who checked in on us regularly and was very engaging. We look forward to our next visit.
