Alder is grounded in the exceptional made accessible, with a menu offering original takes on timeless dishes and preparation styles. For his dishes, Chef Patrick draws inspiration from traditions and techniques long-practiced in and around the Mediterranean, applying a deft touch to thoughtfully sourced ingredients, accenting and elevating flavors found in nature. The kitchen, centered around a wood-fired grill, prepares dishes intended to delight, sustain and nourish.

Added to the 2023 Toronto Michelin Guide, Alder is a warm and protected place to be, like just the right distance from a bonfire.

Went there for a Sunday brunch and the food was very underwhelming for a Michelin star restaurant. Ordered the Eggs benedict and the hollandaise sauce was probably the worst I've tried in my life. My friend said we should have just gone to Eggspectation instead and I agree. Alder was not worth the price. The customer service was also sub par.

Alder was decent but nothing spectacular. I was hoping for more from a Michelin Guide brunch spot. Limited menu with limited footfall - made it a bit underwhelming for a Saturday brunch especially given the price. But the food was good and the ambience due to the modern design of Ace Hotel was something nice. Order the cucumber salad and parfait!

Food was divine. The cabbage especially blew us away - who knew you could make cabbage taste that good?! The service was also completely stand out. Loved this place, we will definitely be back!

My partner at dinner had a severe seafood allergy and everyone from start to finish was so accommodating for us and was able to make our dining experience stress free. The duck breast was literally the most insane thing. I would recommend 100 times over

The vibes were great and the food even better. However it if the service that really makes Alder stand out. Everyone who we meet was welcoming and dedicated but our server Makayla truly went above and beyond to make it a fantastic evening!
