Alder & Ash is redefining the modern Pacific Northwest Bar & Grill. A casual, elevated modern brasserie serving seasonal cuisine from the Pacific Northwest with worldwide influences using local products and producers.

Join Executive Chef Jason Stratton on a journey through the flavors and dishes that make this region so unique.

Open seven days a week, Alder & Ash is located at the corner of 7th and Pike in downtown Seattle. Right in the heart of the Central Business District, Alder & Ash is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a late night cocktail.

Breakfast is offered daily from 6am to 10:30am, followed by lunch from 11am to 3pm, happy hour from 4pm to 6pm and dinner from 5pm to 10pm.

The decor of this restaurant was the high point. The food was ok--not great. The most uncomfortable part were the vehicle exhaust fumes coming into the place from the nearby parking garage.

Food was ok. But pretty spends for what you get, in my opinion. Service was ok but does take awhile to get your food.

The place is quite elegant, and drinks were good, but the entrees were bland. We ordered the crispy rice appetizer, and it was delicious For dinner, I had the king salmon . It wasn't seasoned, and it was sitting on top of some sort of greens and a watery bland gravy. My date had the scallops, and the sauce they were drizzled in tasted burnt. We tried each other's food to confirm. The restaurant did remove the items from our ticket. But for the prices, the food (at the very least the seafood) needs to be better. I'll try again, for something else, but I hope a new menu is in the works soon.

Item I ordered for my entre the last time I was at Alder and Ash was the mushroom risotto. It was very good. They replaced this item with an asparagus risotto which I ordered. What I received was a large pile of Kelley green material that looked like a St. Patrick's Day joke. There was no variation in color even for the risotto. May be the least visually appetizing food I have ever seen. Taste was okay, but I wouldn't order this again if it was free. Bombay Sapphire martini was $20.

This the 3rd or 4th time we have eaten here. Always excellent, beautiful interior, quiet! Our new place downtown. They also have perhaps the best fries in town!

We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. My party wishes it stopped there. The bar service was really great, professional and courteous. Now for dinner: The waitstaff wasn’t bad per se, not memorable. It took well over an hour to get our food. Tables were being comp’ed for food and drinks all around us. We were offered dessert due to the extreme delay. Everyone’s food was cold, like it had been sitting for a long time. I had the chicken confit. It was only a meal because they put 12 huge croutons on the plate. The chicken was over cooked (but still cold). I chose not to send it back because we had waited over an hour already. I read the reviews here and got a thumbs up from a couple people. I hope this isn’t typical but I’m not sure i will head back anytime soon.
