Al Molo is an award-winning Italian restaurant launched in 2015 and transformed Weymouth’s Pier Bandstand into a destination for wonderful Italian food. Co-owners Giuseppe Vannucci & Tim Newton achieved national recognition from the Italian Chamber of Commerce with the “Marchio Ospitalità Italiana“ seal of quality award and won Gold for ‘Restaurant Of The Year’ at the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards.

Building on that success, this new restaurant, their second, Al Molo Dorchester, is traditional Italian cuisine and seafood Restaurant focus to bring fresh, locally caught fish to the forefront of the menu.

Situated in one of Dorchester’s oldest buildings, Judge Jeffreys on High West Street, one of the few surviving timber-framed buildings in Dorchester.

Using fresh, locally caught fish and produce, coupled with the finest Italian ingredients, the restaurant will pride itself on quality food in a venue which provides a unique historical setting.

Al a Carte offering was more than great, despite the awful rain we were made so welcome. I would highly recommend this as a foodies go to…just don’t look for the restaurant name as it’s predominantly signed as the original pub! Great job though to the staff & chefs. Definitely returning.

We visited Al Molo for our wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant was a little quiet, but that’s to be expected on a Wednesday lunchtime. The service was excellent; helpful, friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive. The food was delicious, beautifully prepared and the speed of service was just right; relaxed and unhurried but not too slow. Value wise, the three course set lunch menu was an excellent price and made the whole meal feel well worth the price. We really enjoyed our meal at Al Molo and would recommend it.

An excellent meal at this lovely restaurant. All courses were beautifully presented and the flavour combinations were wonderful. A very enjoyable end to a short break in rainy Dorchester

3 course set menu is a bargain and the service and food is the best Dorset has to offer Great experience! There was a table who were very drunk and a young man serving was amazing as he adapted to make it fun for the others who might of bn intimidated… he deserves a huge mention and was quick witted and hilarious.

Fabulous historical venue, food and staff. Al Molo never fails to deliver a fantastic dining experience. We sampled their new lunch menu on this visit and absolutely loved everything our party of 4 ordered. Customers are even made more welcome if you’re accompanied by a four legged friend. Happy days

By far the best restaurant for many miles around, cannot fault it in any way. A1 front of house, food and value.
