We have enjoyed their namesake restaurant in Philadelphia & were delighted to see this version has recently opened near the Kennedy Center. The food was delicious & inventively seasoned. The wine list was well chosen & focused on lesser known natural varieties. The service was friendly & capable.

We booked our table here because it was close to our hotel. We had NO IDEA we were going to enjoy a world-class dining experience at a James Beard Award winner’s newest restaurant. Everything was fabulous: the wait staff, the drinks, the ambiance, and the amazing food. Delicious, complex flavors all done just right. I would love to say I am coming back, but I have a feeling that the next time I visit DC, getting a table on a Friday night will be impossible. So at least I can tell my local friends yes, I got to go there. And it really is fantastic.

OUTSTANDING food and wonderful service!!!!! The location is also great. Highly recommend for a week night meal or special occasion. The menu is great, the only issue is there are so many items to try it’s hard to decide. Can’t wait to return and try more. Pro tips—definitely get three items to best experience the menu. The bar is lovely and has the best alcohol free choices I’ve had (end stop). Wine list was excellent.

Fantastic meal, we loved everything we tried, and appreciated the variety of vegetarian dishes. Cocktails and service were excellent, too.

Last night was perfect - the setting, the cocktails, the shrimp cocktail, the oysters, each entree was divine and the service was both friendly and attentive. It was a wonderful chance to relax with friends and celebrate how this marvelous gem is improving the foggy bottom neighborhood and the DC restaurant scene as a whole. Brava!!!!

We had the pleasure of dinning at A.kitchen for their soft opening and we were blown away. The cocktails were all so amazing. One member of our party doesnt drink and is usually left to enjoy a "mocktail" that is mostly juice but not here. Our non-drinker was able to enjoy a mocktail with the complexity of a traditional cocktail and the added fun of some adaptogens that help you get in the spirit of a night out. For the food, everything was amazing the standout for me we're the nods to classic french cooking that feel fun a fresh: clams, chicken liver pate and the whole roast chicken all punched way above their wight class. Overall the DC dinning community is lucky to have our first Ellen Yin outpost. We can only hope for many more to come.
