ABOUT AKIRA

The Japanese restaurant, AKIRA, presents a dining experience based on its ‘trinity of cooking’ principles - food, tableware, and presentation.

Visit for lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner to experience Japanese-style omotenashi hospitality. Highlights of the menu include imaginative sushi specialties and chargrilled kushiyaki skewers made from umami-rich wagyu beef, seafood, and vegetables.

AKIRA was nominated for Best Luxury Restaurant, Best Culinary Experience, and Best Restaurant London at the 2022 British Restaurant Awards.

We welcome diners from the age of 4. We may occasionally be able to accommodate babies, but the number of highchairs available is limited, please contact the restaurant in advance to check if this will be possible.

Experience Japanese Afternoon Tea at AKIRA

AKIRA restaurant offers Japanese-style Afternoon Tea. Guests can choose from a selection of beverages including green teas and smoked black green teas, served with a seasonal platter of sushi, wagashi-Japanese sweets, and desserts. MENU Japanese Tea set £12 per person (selection of seasonal wagashi and desserts) Japanese Afternoon Tea £28 per person (selection of savory sushi snacks, seasonal wagashi, and desserts) The afternoon tea menu is served between 14:30 to 16:30 (with the restaurant closing at 17:00 to prepare for dinner service).

Exceptional!!! The food was first class. Having decided to not do the 'Omakase', we chose for ourselves and I'm glad we did. The Wagyu & Cheese Croquette might be the best thing I have ever tasted. This and the Moriawase sashimi set us off to a great start. We followed up with a variety of sushi and then the Wagyu rump which was cooked beautifully - the only regret is that I didn't order more. Deserts and cocktail that followed were all beautiful. I couldn't Akira recommend this enough. We went for an Anniversary treat and everyone couldn't have made us feel more wanted. When booking to go, you definitely need to get a seat at the counter. Watching the crafting of the sushi was a fantastic experience. We can't wait to go back.

Highly recommend the wagyu beef rice don bowl. Delicious! And the service was top notch.

It was absolutely amazing! All the staff was so kind and absolutely amazing, the food was even better it was so beautiful and well cooked. It wasn't busy and the place itself was just wonderful! Would definitely recommend!

Everything was perfect, we loved the Cocktails, the Sake, and the food. The staff are very courteous and helpful. We are regulars at the restaurant!

Really good service. My meal was overpriced and not the best quality - the wagyu beef and rice. The sushi was good, though.
