Chef Akira Back opens his first Canadian namesake restaurant in Toronto’s Bisha Hotel. Drawing on inspiration from his Korean heritage and travels around the globe, chef Back has created a menu that blends modern Japanese cuisine with authentic Korean flavours.     Akira Back never disappoints! The food/drinks, service, and ambience are consistently top notch. We came here for a farewell dinner and the Asian lady manager was thoughtful in her recommendations and made sure we were taken care of throughout the night.

    Server was honestly only nice when we ordered an expensive bottle, he didn’t wish me a happy birthday so I was kind of disappointed but food was amazing as always.

    Incredible food, really appreciate the kitchen for being able to accommodate gluten free/celiac (risk of contamination with fried things though for my fellow GF). Our server Willow was incredible and truly went above and beyond to make it a great evening for us.

    I visit every time I’m in Canada. Food is outstanding. Staff are very professional. I gave 4 stars for service only because servers are very attentive right up to the minute you finish your main meals and then you’re left alone! Last night I ordered desert and after 25 minutes I had to go track the waitress down to ask when it would be coming. I have experienced this on several occasions. My last visit we wanted to order more cocktails and we ended up giving up because no one would come to our table to ask if we needed anything else.

    Just lovely, always a good time - portions are not very large, but the quality of the food goes beyond the price point so it’s justified in my opinion. Highly recommend the mushroom pizza, perfect

    Been to Akria back a number of times, each time the experience never disappoints my group 0f party and myself. Stellar service beautiful presentation and staff very friendly. My number 1 places To-go

    I booked a reservation for 2 people. Upon arrival at 8:30pm, the restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. We were seated at the chefs counter and were taken care of by the manager, Gloria. Her attentiveness and service was exceptional! She always made sure food arrived at a timely manner and that my partner and I were looked after. Beyond that, the food was delicious. Sushi/sashimi were super fresh and my favourite, the hamachi cold dish. Overall, great experience from beginning to end. I would certainly recommend Akira Back - for all occasions.

    It was my birthday and I didn’t get the table that I wanted. I specifically left a comment in my reservation. The whole night I was rushed multiple times and the server even said you have to have your dessert in 15min if you want it. They keep coming to rush me finishing my meal which made me forget to take a picture of my birthday dessert setting. This is such a terrible birthday dining experience!

    Probably one of the best meals I have ever had. Not alone was the food out of this world but the service was simply outstanding. Everything our server recommended, we went with and it did not disappoint. Everything is done beautifully from cocktails, to appetizers, to main dishes. If you want a great experience, please go here.
