Chef Akira Back opens his first Canadian namesake restaurant in Toronto’s Bisha Hotel. Drawing on inspiration from his Korean heritage and travels around the globe, chef Back has created a menu that blends modern Japanese cuisine with authentic Korean flavours. I enjoyed dining at Akira Back. Elaine was wonderful, she was the first person to greet me as I entered the restaurant. She was kind, helpful, and very accommodating! I am traveling solo so I was dining alone and she was willing to take a photograph of me on the beautiful steps. Thank you so much for your wonderful service Elaine! I ate at the bar and the bartender Brian was wonderful as well, he was attentive and very informative when it came to helping me decide what to order! I had a great time here and would recommend it to others.

Incredible experience - the place looks stunning, even better than the posted pictures. We enjoyed the popular tuna/mushroom pizza, AB Wagyu tacos and chef’s mystery box! The presentation of the food is exceptional!

Our server wasn’t welcoming, food wasn’t explained well maybe she didn’t know herself. Waited 30 mins for our mains!

This was the best Sashimi I’ve ever had. Thee urchin was so delicious. I highly recommend this place. Especially lovely as a date night spot!

This place is great if you're looking for an intimate experience or a night out with friends. Food was amazing and worth every dollar.

As always the food was great (tiny portions) but great quality. service was perfect. My only complaint is how dark it is. When you reach the top of the stairs and turn right towards the hostess booth there is a bench and my friend smashed his leg off of it. Soooo bad. Blood / huge bruise. This bench is a HUGE hazard as it’s so dark you can not see it and even the staff knows about it. When we told the staff he said he was going to tell the manager but no one came to acknowledge the injury. The waiter apologized but no manager cared enough to come and acknowledge. It’s the things like this that make me want to try somewhere new next time. We will see. Great food and service tho!

It’s the best Asian fusion restaurant in Toronto! Manager Sasha elevated the whole experience by being very attentive and full of positive energy. The staff at Akira Back really care about the customer experience. Looking forward to my next visit!
