Chef Akira Back opens his first Canadian namesake restaurant in Toronto’s Bisha Hotel. Drawing on inspiration from his Korean heritage and travels around the globe, chef Back has created a menu that blends modern Japanese cuisine with authentic Korean flavours. It was my first time at Akira Back for my anniversary and I was taken aback. Firstly, the ambience is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail, a modern design and low lighting - perfect for a date night! Our server Rishi was extremely attentive throughout the night, providing recommendations, free champagne and dessert with a personalized anniversary note handwritten across the plate. She also was so detail-oriented as to fold my fiancé's napkin when he went to the bathroom. Three different servers made a point to wish us a "Happy Anniversary," which we were grateful for. Next, the food was outstanding! I would highly recommend the Grilled Alaskan King Crab (the presentation was stellar and taste was A+) and any of the sushi rolls! The tuna just melts in your mouth. Ugh! We also had the Miso Black Cod which was glazed in a sweet, buttery sauce. The Ribeye was good but not great because all the others were so unique compared to what we're used to when dining out. All in all, I'd highly recommend. Though this is not a cheap place to eat, it's so worth it for a special occasion. Also bonus points for the photo ops in the staircase!

First time here and I will be back! The restaurant its self is so beautiful! The food is amazing !!! They wagyu tacos and lamb chops were definitely a hit including the shrimps! The service was sooo good our server was so sweet & patient, very talkative & informative. We were celebrating a birthday and had an amazing night, overall experience was 10/10.

Amazing dining experience again at Akira Back Restaurant! Exceptional service, positive vibes, delicious food and artistic presentation! Akira Back is now our most favorite restaurant in Toronto! Look forward to going back again! High recommended!!

I brought my partner to Akira Back to celebrate his birthday and the experience was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the wagyu tacos. All the staff were so kind and provided exceptional service during our evening there. I will definitely be coming back!
