Akbar's established in 1995 with 12 branches in the UK now opens it's doors in Blackburn with the most vibrant interior design located at King Georges' Hall. Authentic curry at it's best open from 5pm Monday to Sunday. Come and try our signature lamb chops, karahi dishes, giant nan bread and a very carefully selected choice of wines, beer and spirits. Not to forget our range of mocktails. Why not celebrate that special event in style by booking our VIP room accommodating up to 16 people.

    Charsi chicken is the best dish to have their with their Family Garlic naan...been there 3 times amazing food

    When we arrived we were shown straight to our table, the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was very nice and the service was fast. Overall we had a good experience, the only downside was our seating was quite near the toilets which we didn’t notice at first but wasn’t really a problem.

    I felt that things were rushed, we no sooner had been seated and we were asked for drinks at least twice before we had chance to look at the drink’s menu. Service was on the slow side. Some ordered desserts which came at all different times, one person had to wait a long time, by the time the dessert had arrived the others had finished. I had to send by meal back due to the chicken being tough, I thought it was a raw potato at first. Would I return I’m not sure, the price is average, some things were a little over average. The décor is bright and colourful.

    Waiter could not remember our order Plates came for mains before starters Tap water wasn’t cold And lamb madras had no flavour apart from tomatoes and chilli To be honest it was a shambles

    Third visit. Already know what I am going to have on my next visit, recommended by the waiter. Try something different every time and never been disappointed. Delicious food and excellent service.

    Great food in a friendly atmosphere- different choices to the usual Indian restaurant. Staff very attentive and helpful. Good sized portions with super sized naan breads and plenty of rice. Our only gripe is that our drinks didn’t arrive until the main course ( we had eaten appetisers and starters by then!).
