A longstanding tradition at Hotel Vancouver, Notch8 is delighted to welcome guests for Afternoon Tea service from Wednesday through Sunday!

If your tiny tot is joining, we offer a Children's Tea featuring kid-friendly finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. Afternoon Tea is served from Wednesday through Sunday only.

We are pleased to offer options catering to guests with specific dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, as well as dietary preferences including vegetarian diets. Please notify us at time of booking and we will be delighted to facilitate.

There is a 90 minute time limit for each reservation, if you have any questions or concerns prior to your visit please let us know.

Embark on a culinary journey inspired by Emily Carr with an enchanting Themed Afternoon Tea served in the tea salon at Notch8. Each menu item is carefully crafted to reflect Carr's vibrant spirit through a culinary journey of British Columbia, alongside a cocktail menu that highlights some of Carr’s signatures works through a collection of libations that draw from inspiration of her artistic style and visual composition. Seatings at 11am, 1pm, 3pm - 90-minute seating. $74 per adult, $40 per child aged 12 and under - price not inclusive of taxes and gratuities. Cancellation policy & reservation changes: kindly email HVC.Notch8@Fairmont.com a minimum of 72 hours prior to reservation to avoid a cancellation fee of $25 per person.

This felt like a special occasion as the ambience and service was very good. Entering the quiet, forest themed room through a secret door was a nice touch. It’s pricey but did deliver.

This was an extremely disappointing experience. I had booked this high tea for my nieces university graduation for the server to only quickly rush us out, he brought paper boxes while we were in the middle of drinking our tea. While I appreciate there was a one hour window the hosts at the front delayed us in our seating, our server was extremely anxious and stressed which was confusing considering the caliber of the hotel and the amount we paid. We will not be back

Amazing experience! Service was great! Hostess was friendly! The food was delicious! My daughter loved the whole experience!

It was fabulous! We loved the tray of treats, the thoughtful menu, the forest theme and decor. What a great experience on our first trip to Vancouver!

Once again, an incredible theme afternoon tea. The surroundings were lovely and the food is so delicious! Nothing traditional about this tea other than served on a tiered plate and tea pots. Can't wait for the next theme tea.

I love the summer theme of Emily Carr. The room was transformed with Emily Carresque window boxes and the walls with colours reminiscent of her paintings. A lovely printed guide to the food allows you to savor each treat on the wooden tiered serving platter. Our favourites were the classic scone served with clotted cream and jam, the tuna tataki and the best thing we agreed was the BC Forest Mushroom tart. The service was attentive and we enjoyed the Bella Coola tea. Take out boxes are provided if you can’t manage to eat everything. Dress up, treat yourself and enjoy an afternoon with a friend. Be warned there is a time limit though we were fine with the amount of time we needed. We even were able to park at a parking meter on the street. Valet parking at the hotel is cash only and pricey!

Food was fantastic. The huckleberry cheesecake was not actually huckleberries though so that was dissapointing as that was the menu item I was the most excited about.

We loved having the Emily Carr Tea which we organized to celebrate our friend’s birthday. We all enjoyed the experience especially after having gone to see the exhibit at the Art Gallery prior to going for tea which really helped to set the mood of being in a forest. We were all impressed by the setting you created and the ambiance. The service was wonderful and very attentive. The food was also very creative and unique in terms of the tea items. All in all, it was a lovely experience that I would highly recommend for its uniqueness of the experience.
