The hotel itself was beautiful to look at specially the garden area where the afternoon tea takes places.disappointed by the way me and my friends were greeted by the staff who check you in for afternoon tea. Once sat at the table my friend asked for water but they did not serve us for ages until we reminded them later on while eating. They were not very informative about the menu and didn’t notify us of other options which I later found out about. I’m not just saying negative things about it for the sake of it but honestly their service wasn’t good and I’m disappointed to have paid £70 for food which I did not enjoy due to staff ignorance. The food tasted good I can’t fault it.but service was bad,so of the staff acted like they didn’t want to even be there. I know people talk about this place but I believe more so for pictures.

A disappointing afternoon tea. We were great fans of the Great British bake-off the professionals and looking forward to this afternoon tea. The food was on par with most London afternoon places but not exceptional. What was lacking was the service - there were piano requests cards placed on the table. We made two requests and the piano player did not play a single one. Instead he played boring music as well as happy birthday four times. We also asked about whether Daniel and Mauro the patisserie chefs were in as we are great fans. The staff said they’d check but then promptly ignored us and then shooed us out for the next seating. Overall very disappointed and would not recommended.

My visit was good in general but the place is small and people are seated close to each other which makes it noisy and less comfy. Staff were amazing. The scones are the best I’ve ever tried, but sandwiches are average. Tea and coffee were good.

First time to try the afternoon tea in the winter garden and I think it won’t be the last The atmosphere and the service were amazing. The food and pastries were yum

Beautiful spot, but service was non existent for us once we ordered and then received our initial tea service. No follow up on more tea or sandwiches etc. The sandwiches were good, the pastries avoidable and the tea just OK.
