Our popular Afternoon Tea features a beautiful tiered stand complete with delicious delicacies and pastries baked by our wonderful Chefs, homemade fruit and plain scones with Devonshire clotted cream and Strawberry preserve and traditional finger sandwiches. You can even top it off with a refreshing glass of Champagne as well as enjoy your choice of luxury Newby loose leaf tea or coffee. Served in our 2 AA rosette Restaurant, Afternoon Tea at Sopwell House is the perfect indulgent experience to share with friends, family or colleagues. Specialty and themed afternoon teas are also often available throughout the year including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas.

Had a lovely afternoon tea for my birthday. Nice surroundings, food was good. Slightly overpriced but that’s often the case with afternoon tea. Service was great, the servers were very helpful - we sat in the garden.

Sad to say I was really disappointed with the afternoon I had on Sunday for my daughters 40th Birthday. The service was very poor and not what we were expecting from such a well regarded establishment. The atmosphere in the room was lacking and we had to get the waiters attention when we needed something. The food was nice but there was not enough jam and cream provided for 3 people and 6 scones. We asked for some more but waited a little while until it came. We were also confused with the cake selection. There were 7 types of small cakes on the top tier and only one of each, we ended up cutting some of them into 3 so we could all try a bit but they were a bit small for this really. I have been to many afternoon teas and there are usually less variety but enough for one each per person. Looking around the room the cake selection appeared to be the same quantity whether it was being shared between 2 people or more (in our case there were 3 of us). We usually leave with left overs to take home but this time had eaten it all, making it feel like there was less food than usual. My daughter wanted another coffee but gave up waiting for the opportunity to ask. I would have chosen not to pay a service charge but this was already added onto the bill so it was just easier to pay it. I feel disappointed that I chose to bring my daughters here for the celebration as it was not what I was expecting.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea in the Cocktail Lounge at Sopwell House. The food was delicious, especially the sandwiches and the scones. There is a good choice of tea which was refilled without issue. If you fancy a cocktail, do indulge as they were made exceptionally well. The staff were very accommodating and professional throughout, in particular Milan, who couldn’t have done more for us, even bought it was a very busy Saturday late afternoon/early evening. We all said we would return. If I had to pick a negative it would be the cost, which reminded me of Central London...but it is a beautiful venue and we would all pay the same again.

Lovely place with great ambience. Food nice but a bit awkward having to keep asking for tea /sandwich refills.

It was ok even tho we have all vegetarian, instead of just for one person but we did peak.to a member of staff to ask for meat and we still got more veg,as she didnt understand and i got a 9 pound service charge which i wasnt told about

Very poor afternoon tea, over rated, over priced! drafty windows, cold restaurant, leaking ceiling and windows service is slow and poor, staff not trained, not good value for money.
