One word.. Wow! From entering the hotel to the warm welcome to the friendly staff to the neat sitting area to the quality of the tea and the food, everything was perfect. They had a wide variety or tea to select. We had requested halal so the food was prepared with that in mind, the chicken and the pastrami were halal. The scones were fresh and tasted amazing. The clotted cream and the strawberry jam had a homemade taste to them. Our server, Daniela kept checking up on us and answered every question we had. Price wise, it wasn't bad at all compared to some other places in the area. I would definitely come back and back again. 10/10

Absolutely phenomenal, my favorite tea experience and affordable for a 5 star experience. The service was top notch, the staff were so attentive and made you feel like the only guests there. The food, especially the scones, were delicious. Endless tea and coffee and splurged for the champagne and it was devine! Highly recommend Hyde Cafe!!

As all the well-known afternoon tea spots were booked well in advance, this was a nice spot for a cheaper option. Server was very friendly and professional and the staff for our changes in reservations as well.

It was a perfect afternoon tea. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was very attentive and insisted it was their job to pamper us and help us relax.

Afternoon tea here was lovely! The courses came out at separate times, so it did not feel rushed at all. Although the reservation is for 2 hours, we were there for longer. The tea and food were delicious, and our waitress was very attentive and kind.

The food and service was not exceptional it was below par. For our first time traveling to london to experience a traditional tea event and we were not satisfied.

The scones, clotted cream, and jam were excellent. However, the rest of the food was just okay. Further, the tea was not hot enough and an insufficient amount of tea leaves were provided, so I was drinking warm water with the food. In addition, we waited too long for the waitress to remove the scone plates and asked us to wait longer for her to “explain” the last dish. This was my first afternoon tea. It was disappointing, overall.

We went to have afternoon tea at the Hyde Cafe at the Royal Lancaster Hotel for my sister-in-law's family hen party. I had seen that there were good reviews and the price was very reasonably, but the experience we had was above and beyond all expectations! To start with, the cafe is beautiful, simple and clean - the afternoon tea cakes are presented on lovely hanging birdcage shelves, which is a delightful touch. We had been reserved a lovely large table area which comfortably seated the four adults and two toddlers and had space for our large double pushchair without it feeling like it was in the way. The staff were incredible from start to finish! We had an issue with our booking due to unforeseen circumstances and the hotel happily amended our booking without any problems. We were greeted by Hafize who was an absolute delight! She explained how everything would work and was so friendly throughout. We were constantly checked out to make sure we were happy and she was so great with our children (15 months and 2.5 years). We were made to feel so welcome and comfortable there with the little ones. The food was delicious - the sandwiches were by far the best sandwiches I've had at an afternoon tea (including at The Ritz) and the cakes were delicious and a real treat. But the scones were just something else! The tea selection was fantastic and we were told that we could have a new tea serving with both the sandwiches and the cakes, but if we didn't like what we'd chosen to just let them know and they'd get us another one. We could also have had juice instead of the tea if we so wished. I would highly recommend afternoon tea here to anyone! I have been telling all my friends and I would definitely come back again for another special occasion!
