Join us for a traditional British afternoon tea, featuring a taste of ROAST classics!

Our afternoon tea comprises of 3 courses including finger sandwiches, savouries, traditional scones served with jam and clotted cream, and true British cakes. It is served alongside a great selection of tea.

We offer the perfect environment to enjoy the great British tradition of afternoon tea whilst looking down on the hustle and bustle of London’s oldest market place.

Our new afternoon tea is available Friday to Sunday from 11:45am to 5:30pm.

The menu relies on only the freshest produce so is often subject to change.

The afternoon tea experience was amazing! Delicious food (and plenty of it!) and great service, made our trip to London so special.

Nice afternoon tea, all tough we were surprised that if you didn't have any food restrictions, all regular options had meat of fish in them. This became a small problem, as we had notified the restaurant that we had two vegetarians, one with severe allergies. One couldn't make it in the end due to doctor's appointment, but we asked her tea to be boxed to take with us. Both were given the meat option, so they could only eat the sweet options as the one at the table didn't want to delay the meal as we had plans after that couldn't be delayed. The other one only noticed meat options once she got her bag /boxes later that day. £45 for three pieces of cake and a scone is a little extreme to say at least. This is the third time we had afternoon tea here, and second when the pre-info hadn't been taken into account, so don't recommend for vegetarians. For a meat eater all good.

Went for afternoon tea with glass of champagne everything was very nice and pleasant atmosphere was very nice and quite which I liked food was excellent would definitely recommend it it to anyone that loves an afternoon tea price was reasonable and get lots for your money too the aesthetics inside was very nice and clean and tidy

Afternoon tea was lovely, decor was really pretty. Being charged for a refill tea is a first though, £10 for an English breakfast tea and a herbal tea. I’ve been to the ritz, Claridges, the Dorchester and the plaza in New York all top places and never been charged extra for tea.

Roast is a lovely place. I enjoyed my afternoon tea and will come back but not during the weekend; it was very busy. A suggestion I would make is that they should have a pescatarian menu available. They only have meat or vegetarian. My pescatarian friend was first given the meat menu then the vegetarian one. Also, when food was presented to us, we were not explained what the items were. Unusual for afternoon tea in my experience. The meat menu was delicious, apart from the brioche which was a bit stale. The Equinox cocktail was exquisite, and my orange and passion fruit tea was lovely. I will visit again.

I had made a reservation for afternoon tea for 4 people at 3pm and we had arrived early to the restaurant. Despite the early arrival, we had to queue to inform the host that we had arrived. There was another party of 5 in front of us, also waiting for their table, who had asked if they could have a certain table in the restaurant but they were told that it was a table for 4 and with them being a party of 5 they might be squashed while seated. They explained that they didn’t mind and they were then directed to the table. I was then asked again for my name and could hear two members of staff trying to move tables around, on their system, to try and accommodate us. I can only assume that it was our table that was given away to the party of 5. We then had to wait for a further 15 minutes for our table as an alternative was not ready for us. This surely defeats the point of having to make a reservation in the first. After finally being shown to our table, we were then asked about allergies by one member of waiting staff, we explained that we would like a vegetarian menu before the member of staff went to collect a vegetarian menu. Again, we had already requested this online (as requested as part of the booking process) so staff should have been aware of this. Our order was then taken by another member of staff but the food did come to the table quite promptly but unfortunately, the tea arrived 5 minutes after the food had arrived at the table. We also asked for water for the table but it never arrived. While eating, one member of staff started to clear our table and took one away of the food plates without saying anything. This led to some confusion as we were still eating. He then returned the plate and explained that he was trying to make more room on the table for us. We had no problem with this but we were confused in the first instance. The food was nice (credit to the kitchen staff) and we enjoyed the afternoon; however, the service could use some improvement.

The service was quite poor. Took awhile to even get waters, and felt like we had to beg to order. The food was dropped unceremoniously on the table, well before the tea arrived.

It was very nice experience and the food was fresh and tasty! Staff looked a bit tired but service was good and friendly! Atmosphere of the room is amazing!
