Join us for a traditional British afternoon tea, featuring a taste of ROAST classics!

Our afternoon tea comprises of 3 courses including finger sandwiches, savouries, traditional scones served with jam and clotted cream, and true British cakes. It is served alongside a great selection of tea.

We offer the perfect environment to enjoy the great British tradition of afternoon tea whilst looking down on the hustle and bustle of London’s oldest market place.

We are glad to offer the following alternative afternoon tea menus, with a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to your reservation: Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Halal.

Our afternoon tea is available Friday to Sunday from 11:45am to 5:30pm.

The menu relies on only the freshest produce so is often subject to change.

The best Vegan afternoon tea by far! The variety of tasty treats is 10/10! Service all round was good, but it’s so busy you almost get a little forgotten, had to ask for clean plates and extra straw and the bill all twice after waiting upto 10 mins . Given the appearance and price I think being too busy takes away a little something

Great place, lovely ambience. We laughed and partook in delightful food. The service was A1. I’d go again in a heartbeat.

Nice experience at Roast. Afternoon tea and cocktails were good. Location right in Borough Market, gorgeous dining room. Price about average compared to other afternoon teas in the area.

The food was well below average. We paid £45 for a halal afternoon tea, only 1 item contained meat! The rest was vegan/vegetarian which was very disappointing. The place was very loud and we were sat right by the bar, we could barely hear one another speak. We queued up for nearly half an hour despite having a reservation, place was overbooked and overcrowded. Avoid.

The food was average at best. The smoked salmon toast wasn’t great, the sausage roll was very dry and disappointing, the scones were dry and overbaked, and no one offered to refill our tea which was finished at this point so couldn’t enjoy the scones at all as it was too dry to swallow. The croquettes and scotch egg were the nicest, and the Big Ben cocktail was lovely and refreshing, probably the highlight for me. The service was ok but once the afternoon tea was served we were left to our own devices, no one checked on us to see if we needed refills! It was nice that no one rushed us off the table. The restaurant itself is beautiful but we were placed right next to the heat of the kitchen and away from all the pretty lights which was a shame. For the price the experience was ok overall but I wouldn’t go back for afternoon tea there again.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Have been to many afternoon teas and this was the worst by far! Had a horrible experience here with a group of friends at the weekend. First we arrived a little late and the lady at the front was extremely rude and said she needed to check if our table was still available she then said it’s for 2 people to which I showed her my booking for 4 people for afternoon tea. She then said she has a table and walked past a few empty tables that were set up for afternoon tea like the pictures in the website with nice tea pots etc and put us upstairs in the corner by a window which was very cold. We asked if we can move down to a warmer part away from the windows but the waiter said that it was full apparently. We then had to wait 10mins to see the tea menu and another 10mins to wait for our order to be taken. The afternoon tea came 35mins after we arrived with ugly silver tea pots. The actual food was tasteless and hard to swallow. We then wanted to get the bill and asked the waiter to get the bill (took 10mins to get his attention), once we did we asked for the bill and the computer was right next to our table to print it off from but instead another lady called him to top up her wine so he went to serve her then disappeared for 10 more minutes. By then we were fed up and asked another lady waitress to get us the bill and she did very quickly and we paid and left. The service was terrible and so was the food would never go again, ruined our day completely!!

Overpriced. The savoury food was bland and average. Even the tea and mocktails were watered down and lacked flavour. The desserts were nice as were the scones but definitely not worth the price. Atmosphere of restaurant is lovely.

The afternoon tea and cocktails were really nice and good portions but took a while for it to come out and unfortunately we specifically requested to sit in flower section but however were seated in the back of the restaurant even though I was told when booking the tables are given on a first come first served basis . On our arrival in the flower section there was two tables available that could have quite easily accommodated my booking of 10 people. My overall experience was let down by the seating arrangement and I didn’t get to experience the ambiance of the afternoon tea which is a shame as the food I couldn’t fault it

Amazing afternoon tea, with a delicious selection. Although, the option to have more than one pot of tea would have been great, given the price that I paid!!
