Delicious food in a wonderful setting. It would have been nice to have been in the library as advertised but the bar over looking Parker’s Piece was very nice.

We went for my birthday a Halloween afternoon tea. I have been here before but it wasn’t as good as last time we went. There was less savoury choice and the cakes were not as nice as the traditional afternoon tea I had before. The value was not as good. It took a while to be served and waiting to be served for extra tea etc. No jam came for the scones so had to ask for this too. Overall came away disappointed. Which was sad as it was my birthday treat. I won’t go again.

Beautiful building - lovely table tucked away in the library, but was really pricey for what we got. The kids afternoon tea was much better value - and almost the same as the adults (minus a scone and a cake) for half the price. Wish we’d known as I was debating ordering my 13 year old the kids option and wish the waitress had told me, as ended up ordering the adult for her and having leftovers. Also the tea options are very limited. Still the cakes were so cute and it was a good fun thing to do as a treat!

Lovely quiet room with a great ambiance. Delicious afternoon tea and great service. Would highly recommend.

Very poor service. Organised for my friends birthday, contact with the tavern before regarding her nut allergy, confirmed 48 hours before, on arrival ignored by staff when waiting to be seated, small pot of tea arrived 30 minutes after arrival, on questioning no documentation of the nut allergy, server unsure if this could be accommodated. Waited 1 hour for the food to arrive, very poor substitutions for the nut allergy. Terrible service. Very dissapointing, especially when organised as a gift for a friend.

Took 20 to 30 minutes for coffee to arrive. Had to ask multiple times. Took ages to be served. Arrived a little early and told table wasn’t ready but the area the table was in was empty. Lots of staff but no one seemed to know what they were doing. Had 6 afternoon teas only two jam and creams came out so again had to ask for more. Not worth the price.

Wonderful experience. The food was top quality, with the savoury selection being outstanding. The salmon taco and caramelised onion quiche were very welcome additions to the excellent range of sandwiches. The scones, both fruit and plain were perfect. They were served warm and came wrapped in linen napkins on the serving stand so they remained so. The miniature cakes were outstanding. The rhubarb and vanilla choux bun and raspberry and rose roulade were beautiful. We were too full to eat the chocolate and almond délice and to finish the blueberry and lime cheesecake so we were given a lovely Parker’s Tavern box to take them home. We were asked by our waitress if we were celebrating anything. We told her it was my birthday. Half way through she came over with a plate piped with ‘Happy Birthday’ in chocolate with a chocolate on it. A lovely touch. We all had our pots of tea replenished, and could not have asked for more throughout the afternoon. Having had many afternoon teas in many places, this experience was certainly amongst the best. Thank you Parker’s Tavern.

We enjoyed the library and the food was nice, but the service was abrupt and not very welcoming. We were told we couldn't order an afternoon tea and more scones to share. That would have been nice to do. We had had an event at the hotel the day before so we had already spent money there. But the scones tasted nice and the room was pretty.

O really I wouldn't recommend. It was very noisy, service was lacking, I didn't feel welcome or valued. Food was good however as was the coffee. We had to ask for milk for the tea, which took a while to arrive. The bill took ages to arrive and it felt like we were being difficult asking to split it. I've had better service in other places so wont be back in a hurry

Horrendous - avoid at all costs if you want a nice afternoon tea!! Manager was extremely rude, service was abysmal and £10 extra charge for sandwiches is just laughable !!
