Our newest restaurant, Afghania is the sister restaurant to Bistro Aracosia in the Palisades neighborhood of DC, Aracosia in McLean Va and Afghan Bistro in Springfield VA. Afghania accommodates any diet and is proud of taking cooking back to its origins.

Welcome to Afghania, where the Steppe of Central Asia meets the Hindu Kush and Suleiman Mountain Range, bordering South Asia. Come and enjoy the warm hospitality, exquisite flavors, and the mystery of the Afghan frontier that so many have been intrigued by.
At Afghania you will enjoy some classical dishes of the warriors from the frontier. Smoked meats, vegetables full of flavor, exotic spices, exquisite flavors and aromas and unmatched hospitality are promised at Afghania.

We enjoyed our dinner - my suggestion is only to sit downstairs Food was good and plentiful - your stomach needs to be empty to go

This my first time to Afghania and it ws a wonderful experience. ATMOSPHERE: Wonderful service from the staff. The restaurant is tight (intimate) on the first floor. I did not see the second floor. We could hear other table's conversations, but it was not overly noisy at all. FOOD: The food was incredible. The complementary bread and dips were a great way to start the meal. The assorted dumplings appetizer was good. The pumpkin dumplings were a hit with my party and the various lamb and chicken main dish orders were all equally delicious and well prepared. I would highly recommend Afghania for a date night or time out with friends looking for a new "go to" restaurant.

We loved it. Only downside is we were not going home after so we couldn't bring leftovers with us. Great staff/service. Food soooo delicious. We are already planning to go back in a couple weeks! I want that table by the window on first floor!! :)

This was my very first time eating Afghan food. It will not be the last. Fantastic overall experience. Definitely Michelin Bib Gourmand level. Outstanding cocktail program and the extensive vegetarian and vegan option was unexpected.

Our experience at Afghania was superb! The food was exceptionally delicious, the service was exceptional, and atmosphere was delightfully intimate.

We truly enjoyed our dinner at Afghania. Our server, Aziz, helpfully walked us through the menu, explained what everything was, and gave excellent recommendations. We got the tasting menu, which was pricy but well worth it to sample a bit of every from their extensive menu. (and we had lots of leftovers for the next day). All of the food was delicious and perfectly seasoned and the kitchen was able to accommodate several nut allergies without question. The dining area was quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend Afghania to anyone who's interested in trying Afghan food.

They have a huge menu, all of which looks delicious, so we ordered a tasting menu. Huge amount of food, so we took some home and made another dinner out of it the next night. Everything was wonderful. Service and ambiance were lovely.
