Introducing Bruce, the brilliant mastermind behind
our culinary creations and revered leader, whose
gastronomic expertise knows no limits!
Trained at the illustrious Sushi Tokyo Academy, and further honing his culinary skills under the guidance of Pru Leith at Leith’s Catering, he delved deeper into the vibrant European culinary scene, before catapulting into the world of Michelin-starred restaurants and opulent five-star hotels.
From the prestigious kitchens of The Mandarin Oriental in Hyde Park to iconic settings such as The Dorchester and The Waldorf, Bruce thrived alongside culinary luminaries such as Gordon Ramsay, David Nichols, Anton Mosimann and Eric Vernice.

Bruce held the esteemed position of Director Chef at the Economist Newspaper group. His culinary journey extended to the private realms of prominent individuals worldwide, where he curated gastronomic experiences in opulent villas, luxurious alpine chalets and he graced the sleek teak decks of super yachts.

Food was really lovely. It was slightly ruined by two choices of wine not being available.

This has the potential to be a lovely restaurant. It has nice décor and an inviting ambiance. However, we chose the Sunday lunch roasts (beef and lamb) and both were disappointing as were the veg. We had a selectin of tapas for starters and they were good as was pudding but I would avoid the Sunday lunch main course option.

4 of us went here for a birthday meal - it was out-standing. I haven't eaten such delicious food outside a Michelin starred restaurant for a very long time. Huge compliments to the chef and his team. If it is still on the specials menu I highly recommend the cod in lobster bisque with mussels - not only did it look and taste sublime but it smelt delicious too. We are now looking for an excuse to go back there very soon.

Acorn is a gem of a restaurant- delicious food , cooked by a chef with real passion, using the best ingredients to create mouth watering dishes. All the staff were lovely, very professional and also very friendly. The restaurant provides excellent value for money. We went at lunchtime and there was a good choice from ‘the lunch menu’ for very reasonable prices (similar to local pub grub food but much better food ) as well as a great selection of tapas. We chose from the a la carte menu - more expensive but still very good value for money as the meals were very special. A full wine list with a wide selection, again, lots of choice at a reasonable price. Godalming is very fortunate to have such a fantastic restaurant. We thoroughly recommend it and will return as soon as possible.

Great Tapas selection, all 6 of us loved the range and flavours. Great service and interesting talking to the Chef about his ideas. Highly recommended.

Good food, nice place and nice staff too. However, not keen on dogs being on restaurant premises.

We had lunch specials - steak and mackerel, and both were absolutely fabulous. Perfectly cooked quality ingredients. It’s been a long time since I’ve been so pleasantly surprised in a restaurant - I was hoping for nice but this was so much more. Great value for money. Thank you!

Our food was absolutely delicious. We had thevseafood sharing dish, with a variety of crustaceans and fish in a wonderful sauce. The restaurant was quiet but it seems had ambition to take things further. Highly recommended.
