Great atmosphere for a conversation focused dinner. The service was excellent, with servers continually available and professional. The food was very good. I wouldn’t say excellent because the steak and fries plate had too much butter both on the steak and on the green beans according my friend who was with us. Nonetheless it was very tasty too but they showed me their plate when they were done and there was a pool of butter. We also ordered the beef Wellington fixed menu and every item was delicious with one minor set back —The beef Wellington was too salty — it must have been a slip up because it was excessively salty and doesn’t seem like it would be the set recipe. Re-price: I think all good restaurants are currently priced higher than what can be considered good value for the average household income. I gave the a four star but it’s not really Absinthe in particular that has that issue. Over all - highly recommend.

I have hearing issues and asked for a quieter table which was kindly provided. The occasion was my husband’s BD who wanted steak/frite and he was extremely happy with his meal as was I. Our 2 guests were equally happy with their meal, the ambiance and the great service. We will most definitely be back! Thank you Absinthe for a wonderful BD celebration!

It was awesome! Our server, Bonnie, was friendly and knowledgeable. The beef Wellington was cooked to perfection and the wines and cocktails… so good. All 4of us were very pleased with the whole experience.

Phenomenal, lovely farm to table experience. Every bite was delicious and we are so happy to have found this little gem of a spot just outside of the Ottawa downtown area.

We introduced guests to our favourite restaurant and they went home happy!. Excellent steak frites, prepared exactly as prescribed. Generous servings of fresh salad and soup to start, with creme brule to finish. Never disappointed!

This was an outstanding lunch! It is definitely one of my top 3 restaurants in Ottawa and I had not gone in years but after yesterday, will definitely be going more! We went to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary! The lunch menu special was fantastic and the mousse dessert, we could just not get enough. A lot of care is put into the ingredients used and marrying them together for the perfect taste and texture - overall, 10/10 recommend this place. Great lunch ambience too - not too quiet and not too loud and the music is fantastic as well. Will definitely be back!
