Aboyer (ab-wah-yay), meaning, “to bark,” is a French-American brasserie as imagined by Chef Michael Lachowicz. Aboyer wakes up the senses with a sexy, energetic vibe. Refined French pub-grub served alongside craft cocktails & wine in the contemporary space exudes a nouveau-bistro style.

Located in the heart of Chicago's North Shore, the menu features starters such as Potato & Truffle Soup, Charcuterie, and Rabbit & Sage Sausage to main courses including Coq au Vin, Cassoulet, Faroe Island Salmon and more.

Reservations are recommended; walk-ins are welcome. Aboyer requires a credit card to secure all reservations. Please note that reservations cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled booking will incur a $25 per guest cancellation fee & no-shows will be billed at a rate of $50 per guest.

We are thrilled to have Abouer near by. Great quality food and service. I think if it had been full a bit loud but not a deal breaker. It’s a must try!

Having dinner on the outside patio even though it was a cool night was very comfortable with the heaters and the wind deterrents. The food, as usual, was wonderful and our server could not have been more helpful and timely.

We enjoyed happy hour on the patio and had a very enjoyable experience. Great cocktails and bites. Very nice server and wait staff. We will be back with friends soon.

Chef Michael is simply spectacular. The food is the best you can find in Chicago. Wait staff is truly professional and so fun.

Love Aboyer. Been multiple times. Chef Michael never dissapoints. Great traditional French bistro fare Great service Fantastic value. Love it!

Happy Hour with half-priced cocktails and appetizers is the best! And happy hour is every day the restaurant is open. 4-6pm.

I have been to Aboyer several times and they do not disappoint. The food is always amazing, and they do a good job with my food allergies. The wait staff was attentive, and it was a great evening to sit outside in their beautiful patio.

We tried the happy hour at the bar and Danny took superb care of our group of four. There are some nice wines by the glass on the happy hour menu (1/2 price) plus some new to us cocktails. After sharing some tasty $5.00 appetizers, we migrated to our table and ordered entrees, Three of us had the whitefish and one had steak aupoive. The fish was a large very nicely prepare portion accompanied by asparagus and mushrooms. The service was friendly and attentive. We had a very lovely experience

Delightful as always! The food is delicious and menu has many great choices. The staff is professional, kind and courteous. Dining outdoors or indoors....both are great.

The measures of a restaurant are ambience, service and food; certainly not equally weighted, but my three components of a dining experience. I wrote a complimentary review (dated 11 August) of our last visit to Aboyer; great food, excellent wait staff service and pleasant atmosphere. Last night, no so good. What is typically a fairly quiet restaurant that allows for easy dinner conversation, was very noisy. Aboyer had closed off a dining area closest to Green Bay Rd, which moved patrons into the main, relatively small, main dining room. The noise factor or the quiet factor was not helped by a rather boisterous table of ladies. It was what it was. What was in control of Aboyer was service. We felt like ignored by the wait staff---slow to ask for drink order, no perfunctory interest in the food order, no enthusiasm for what they were offering. I like to think we are relatively low maintenance, chill people. My attitude switch went from neutral to negative when we had to wait and wait for the dessert menu to appear at which point we asked for the bill. The bill was presented by the server with a “Happy Anniversary”; we had noted it was a special occasion when we made the reservation. No dessert, paid bill, left. We have dined at Aboyer/Winnetka Grill over the past many years. As wonderful as the service was less than a month ago (and many times before), last night’s service effort was not so good.
