Restauranteur Shawn Virene put the POP into Houston with his wildly successful a’Bouzy. This champagne-fueled spot located in the tony River Oaks neighborhood of town attracts a stylish crowd all day. The bar is always bustling and the patio echoes with the cry – “a Bouzy!” every time a bottle is sabered tableside. In fact, most tables will have multiple wine buckets close by, keeping the bubbly cool. The fresh, ripe American menu features seasonal seafood, salads, small-shareable plates, large raw bar and prime meats. The wine list curated by Virene, is both the best-priced on bubbly and wines in the city. The interiors have a sophisticated rustic vibe with exposed brick, reclaimed woods and a color palate of creams and blues. The effervescent appeal of bubbles is reflected in a light installation that mimics bubbles floating overhead. Best brunch in Houston. Carlos at the bar provided exceptional service. The food and drinks were top notch. Can’t wait to go back.

Service: Awful. Our server was basically non existent during our meal. Food was dropped off and he never came to check on us. Did not return until our meal was done, probably 20-30 mins of no check ins on our food or refills. Order an appetizer but never got it. Felt like we were bothering him. Food: What we did receive was good, and delivered as advertised.

This place was a true find! This was an excellent choice, especially since we hadn't heard anything about it. We just picked a new place we'd never been and hoped for the best. Most importantly for this review, we did get a fabulous meal, fabulous drinks, and had a fabulous experience; however, the prices were higher than we pay retail for wines which is not how this place was advertised. That was a little disappointing. The food was well worth the price, but it is higher than OpenTable led us to believe. Next time we will eat out on the patio where the noise level may be a little more our speed. We don't mind energetic. But inside, there were two large parties flanking us and there were many times we couldn't hear each other across the table.

The staff and manager went out of their way to make our larger party feel comfortable. Highly recommend!

It was a last minute, late evening decision to visit a’Bousy and a great choice. My partner was flying home late from west Texas, and just said “you decide about dinner.” The food was tasty, and the cocktails were lovely. The food was exceptional and our server was awesome. While waiting to leave, even the valet attendant was attentive and engaging. We will return!

Mickey was an excellent sever. Food was amazing. Ambience was nice and classy. The manager came by our table to make sure everything was okay. Nice big patio with heaters. I’ll definitely come back.
