We had seating in the Patio and it was terribly cold. There was a space heater close by, but it was not on. We had them turn it on and it didn’t help. We had heard great feedback on Aba and the food was really good, but couldn’t make up for the cold.

Service is usually 10/10. Service today 3/10. Very hard to praise food when every course had too much time on between. Poor service ruins experience even if food is tasty .

Unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations via the acclaim. My friend and I only enjoyed the falafel and Prosecco, but were really delicious and the kitchen only prepared one. Everything else we ate lacked seasoning. Both the short rib and crispy chicken thigh both needed some finishing salt. The sweet potatoes, which we didn’t realize when we ordered was hummus, was extremely sweet and that was off putting. Service was nice, but doesn’t make up for the food.

We visited Aba in the West Loop during Chicago Restaurant Week and had a pleasant overall experience. The menu offered great options, and we particularly enjoyed the Salmon Kabob, which was the highlight of our meal. The Halibut Ceviche and Muhammara appetizers were also delicious and well-prepared. The homemade bread was another standout—warm, fresh, and delicious. The vibe and ambiance were fantastic, with great music that enhanced the overall experience. While the drinks were okay and not particularly memorable, our server, Argelia, stood out with her kind and polite demeanor, providing excellent service throughout the evening. One downside was that our main dish took quite a while to arrive, which was a bit disappointing. Also the deserts specifically their brownie, and carrot cake weren’t my favorite. They were very sweet. However, the atmosphere and flavors made the wait worthwhile. Overall, Aba is worth a visit for its delicious dishes, warm bread, great vibe, and welcoming service.

The food was absolutely incredible! I got the short rib which was wonderful and would highly recommend! Gabriel was a great server!

Nice but tables too close together. What is with the water? Why do use serve warm room temperature water ? Just leave the bottle on the table. Don’t fill the glass every time you take a sip. That was annoying.

Food was insanely good!! Highly recommend the short rib hummus, hamachi, lamb kefta, brussels, halibut, whipped feta, creme brulee pie, date cake. Desserts are decadent and DELICIOUS! Prices are a bit high given that these are small plates, but honestly it was worth every penny. My advice is to order a bit at a time. We put our entire order in at once and everything came out so quickly. We felt a bit rushed. The waiter did say that he would pace the foods, but the pacing was much too fast. It is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. We wanted to linger a little longer. Cannot wait to go back and try all of the other fabulous things on the menu.
