Located in Historic Downtown Freehold, Aarzu Modern Indian Bistro presents an exceptional upscale dining experience.
Modern Indian cuisine is making rapid strides. Today, it has moved beyond the realms of fusion gourmet. At Aarzu, we are taking the Indian cuisine out of the butter chicken and curry circle. The focus is on taste, texture and presentation. While the cooking method remains the same, our recipes involve diverse elements and unique food pairings with presentation being the focal point. After all, we do eat with our eyes first! Our innovative menu also brings to light the regional culinary diversity of India.
The décor, lighting, colors, art and even the serving platters in Aarzu are designed to complement the food to create the complete experience for the guest.

    I’ve enjoyed our previous dining experiences at Aarzu, but this time I found the food quality not at par with the standard they’ve set. Lamb cops are usually the highlight of dinner, but we found them overdone and spices overpowering the meat. Just 3 chops for $36 is expensive. Coconut chicken 65 was just about ok, not the explosion of flavors that we used to enjoy. Same with Dhaba goat curry. Overall still good food.

    We have dined at Aarzu several times in the past. It continues to be the finest Indian restaurant in our area. The food is upscale both flavor and presentation. The restaurant is BYOB which is also nice. All their dishes are a refined version of traditional Indian dishes. We shared an appetizer of Duck Tacos which were delicious with a bit of a kick for those who like spicy. I had the Lamb Roganjosh and my wife had the Zafrani Chicken. Both were delicious with complex layers of flavor. Portions were large and we took some home. For dessert we had the Rasmalai and the Gulab Jamun. Both were delicious.

    One of the best Indian restaurants around. Food is always delicious, from their small plates to entree’s and drinks. Their service is top notch, waiters are attentive but not annoying and food comes out pretty quick. It’s also nice that it’s BYOB, but offer wine bottles if you like. Our favorites are the Aloo Bonda, Butter chicken, Biryani and don’t forget about their mango lassi. We’re always too full for desserts, but will definitely try them next time.

    Everything flavorful for the mouth and eyes. Fresh ingredients, inventive combinations. Not too spicy. Friendly, attentive service.

    Excellent meal and service. Love the beet root starter. Add a bit of curry and chicken and we loved it.

    Our party of 10, including a 16 month old, were promptly seated, given great service and treated very well by the staff. The food, as usual was excellent. This dinner was requested by my granddaughter who has eaten here with us many times and always requests it when she visits from Boston

    We went back to Aarzu after ~4 years, they have not only maintained but improved their food quality and have some great fusion options. Loved mango avacado bhel, duck tacos (better than the Peking Duck) and tandoori salmon kabab. Chocolate halwa was also awesome!
