Good cocktails. Squash blossoms cold and greasy. Chorizo in octopus appetizer very overcooked and chewy. Skirt steak overdone and tough. Hamachi crudo bland, needed a sauce and salt. Wait staff took plates before we wanted them removed. Service seemed rushed.

The service was so good. They were polite, knowledgeable, clear, and attentive. The interior is beautifully decorated and has a great view and ambience. The food was good not great unfortunately. Especially for the price, I was hoping it knocked our socks off, but no. The wine and bubbly collection was really good so we got some bottles. Overall this is perfect for a date night or a few couples to go. Just don't expect the food to blow you away but expect to pay premium prices.

Overall, this is a gorgeous restaurant with an ambitious food and beverage program that they are mostly pulling off. However, I spent the first hour of my 7pm reservation incredibly uncomfortable and sweating due to the temperature inside. I understand the direct sunlight during the day, but more needs to be done to control airflow or bring AC in. For the price point, I would’ve liked to have professional service to match. The wine list, for instance, is unnecessarily high in my opinion and would benefit from having a sommelier on site. My server described the special as “Canadian lobster” that lived in “Canadian waters”. Well, naturally. She also had no recommendations and did not check back after food was delivered. The food runner only described dishes when asked and said things like “that’s gonna be…and this is gonna be” while pointing to the item, as opposed to, “here we have a huckleberry gelee and a house made black mustard” etc. The lamb was expertly cooked. The squash blossoms were wonderfully creative and delicious. The pasta with duck tasted more like beef bolognese, with no standout flavors, apart from the incredible cheese shavings on top. I do hope this place lasts, but I also know that it’s hard to satisfy the diehard casual crowd and the high-standard foodie crowd all in one place. Overall, well done.
