   I had an amazing experience for brunch at 53 by the sea. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. The hostess greeted me right away and showed me to my seat which came with a gorgeous view. The awfully sweet server McKenna took care of me during my time there! I had the Dutch baby (sweet) which was cooked to perfection. I paired that with potatoes and bacon. The bacon was a tad overpriced for only 3 slices but it tastes great! I enjoyed a lychee mimosa and then a grapefruit lychee mocktail that was really refreshing! Can’t wait to go back!

   It was as advertised, very romantic & scenic. The food was perfect. For a special occasion in Hawaii THIS IS THE SPOT 🤩

   Oysters on the half shell. Fresh local fish entree. What could go wrong? When the chef decides to show his culinary skills with “ innovative “ reinterpretations of these classics. The oysters. One expects a choice of tangy, acidic enhancements that include some combination of cocktail sauce, horseradish, minonette, and hot sauce. The chef at 53 offers only a topping of some sort of a sweet foam and a combination of herbs for a totally different and to me very inferior flavor. No tang, no “brightness.” Totally unexpected. The fresh local fish had a similar issue. It was properly cooked, neither too raw nor overcooked. But the fish was served on a bed of bland, plain tasting beans. I ate about half of this odd dish. Sometimes innovative chefs reinterpret classic dishes in wonderful ways. Sometimes not so wonderful.

   The venue is incredible with an awesome view of the beach. Staff was super welcoming and attentive. We went for brunch and every was very good but the pastry basket stole the show it’s definitely a must order

   Great service, beautiful view. Food is on the expensive side. Very good pasta and fresh seafood tower. Other dishes are less overwhelming.

   Great outlook despite the strange location as the Uber drove into a marina that was quite shabby. Ordinary service and food unfortunately (I asked for a glass of red with my meal that still hadn’t arrived). Then the check was expensive. There are better options nearby
