The manager is very insulting. I was wearing a Robert Graham shirt, Ralph Lauren shorts and OluKai sandals. The hostess would not seat me. The manger came up and told me I wasn't dressed appropriately for the restaurant - which only had two tables sat at the time. I've been eating there with my wife (who works at the Galleria) a couple times a month for Sunday brunch for the past year - always dressed similarly. I was told they don't allow shorts and sandals, and I don't fit in the restaurant. I asked since when, and the new manager told me since he took over. Then he offered to make an exception this one time. The table next to me had a single person eating in jeans and a jean shirt. Another table was sat, and the man was wearing shorts, sneakers and a Hawaiian shirt. His wife was wearing revealing clothing. Another table came in with the man wearing a black t-shirt with an offensive saying across the front. And another table had people eating in this "classy" restaurant wearing hats. But somehow, they were all classy enough for him, and I was an embarrassment. Supposedly I'm not dressed appropriately to eat lunch in a mall restaurant in a city that is routinely 100 degrees. Fortunately, there a plenty of great "classy" restaurants in Houston.

I'm really sorry to hear about your experience, Mark. That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially given your history with the restaurant. It’s disappointing when dress codes feel inconsistent and when guests aren’t treated with respect. Perfect spot - RECOMMENDED by ME! I'm a regular and the events are equally as good as simply dinning in. BAR is exceptional.

My friend and I recently visited 51fifteen and ordered the lamb chops well done, expecting a tender meal. Unfortunately, I had an extremely hard time cutting through the meat—it was tough and far from what I anticipated. My friend brought this issue to the attention of the manager, who, rather than being apologetic, proceeded to explain that we should have ordered medium rare instead. When my friend asked why this was the case, the manager avoided making eye contact with her, choosing instead to continue addressing me without offering any kind of apology or a complimentary substitute. The experience left us feeling dismissed and dissatisfied. A little empathy and better customer service would have gone a long way.

My kale salad came in without the kale being massaged first. At a place like this the chefs should know not to just serve dinosaur kale without massaging it first. I could not even taste the vinaigrette. It was supposed to have . Also, the waiter did not come and ask us even once if we needed anything else or if the food was OK I had to keep looking out for other waiters to tell them to call our table waiter, I gave full tip because it’s not the waiters fault. It’s the managements fault because they haven’t trained their waiters to keep checking in on their customers.
