We've eaten at Cucina Alfabeto several times since its recent opening. Each time we've brought a guests or guests. Every meal has been gloriously presented, and a culinary masterpiece. Each one of our guests, even the very fussiest, was delighted was the meal, the service, and the ambiance.

This is a restaurant that you don’t really want to say publicly how good it is ‘cause you always want to be able to get a reservation. Chef Maurizio welcome to the Burgh. We will be regulars.

The NEW restaurant Alfabeto is one we plan to return to again & again. The flavor profiles were magnificent! Absolutely outstanding! We are so happy with the change!! Many of the older reviews really are about the prior restaurant, 40 North in this location. Then there was a transition to Alfabeto the new restaurant & the lower reviews are disgruntled diners who did not know 40 North had closed & got surprised. The NEW restaurant is one we plan to return to again & again. You will not be disappointed!!

My wife and I were big fans of Chef Esposito while he was at Fish nor Fowl, so it was no surprise to us that the food at Cucina Alfabeto is exquisite. We both thoroughly enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad, and the scallops (cooked perfectly) with carrots. The meatballs and penne in tomato sugo with shaved parmesan were so good that it will be very difficult for me not to order them every time I dine there. The stuffed, fried squash blossoms were a treat.

The selection on the menu is wonderful. We shared a number of delicious items. The wine selection is great. The staff members are welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional.

Absolutely amazing! There is not a single thing not to rave about in regards to my experience at Cucina Alfabeto. From the moment my wife and I entered, we were enchanted by the space - there is a bonafide bookstore adjacent to the dining room! The ambiance in the dining room is elegant without being stuffy. The host was warm and welcoming and our server, Marcia, was the most engaging and wonderful host. Her menu knowledge was top-tier in spite of it being their second day of service. The manager, who was kind enough to answer all our questions about the wine list was wonderful, and my wife and I were delighted by his recommendations. And the food! Where to start? The presentations were gorgeous making us reluctant to dig in, but once we did, there was nothing that could stop us from devouring each morsel. I highly recommend the Poussin Chicken, which is decadent beyond words. Cucina Alfabeto is our new favorite restaurant and we will be back very soon!

I was shocked when I arrived at 40 North with the internationally acclaimed photographer, Duane Michals, for our dinner reservation only to find a piece of paper on the door announcing it was unexpectedly closed!!! This COULD have been communicated to me instead of the many reminders from Open Table that they were expecting us. This was hugely disappointing and awkward, too, to find another good restaurant on a moments notice on a Sunday night. We are lucky the artist isn’t a snob, and also that Eleven was willing to fit us in. A bad mark, though, for Open Table. Please try to help your users more in future.

I thought the food was perfect: the trout platter, with a perfect homemade salt bagel, a lovely salad of, I think, sunflower sprouts and pickled egg, and the trout salad, which was wonderful. Service was good if a little bit slow although they didn't seem busy. Then the bookstore was lovely and the clerk gracious and articulate about books and publishing.
