The team at 3rd and Fernwood is truly top notch. We were there to celebrate my birthday based on a review of must try restaurants in charlotte. We had the place almost to ourselves (which was a little strange for a Sat night), not sure if people just dont know about the place yet or what. But from the moment we walked in the door they made us feel special. The host, Seth even took the time to ask each person in our party to select a song for him to play. It's little things like this that set a place apart from the rest. The drinks were great and the food was good. Our group would recommend the meatloaf, burger, and dirty grits.

We had the pleasure of visiting for lunch and the service and food were fantastic. We ordered the short rib meatloaf, and the mushroom burger and a few cocktails! Everything was fresh and flavorful the burger came with fresh chips, which were amazing and that meatloaf will be ordered again and again. lol! Seth while not our server made us feel so welcomed. The music and ambience was the best part. Thank you and we’ll see you again soon!

The resturant was empty, there wasn’t anyone at the front to great me, so I sat with my party and eventually someone approached. It’s not a lively restaurant, you could hear other conversations close by, cause there were only two tables sat, by the time our food came. I’m not in a rush to bring people here to try it, I’m happy I didn’t. AND the food, came from a box? Heated up in the oven? If there aren’t any customers, how is there food out of stock? We placed an order, they came back and said “oh we just ran out” how did you run out if there’s only one other table here? It was disappointing, it just needs to be revamped or “livened” up. I wanted to stand up and yell “wake up! Is there anyone in here?!”

Decided to check out this restaurant today with a friend for lunch. Upon arrival we were seated immediately, served water and the bread with sangria butter. It was just okay nothing to get excited about as there was no real flavor. We ordered a lot of items on the menu that included the chicken sandwich, chicken breast, a salad, field peas, Mac & cheese, corn and greens topped with cornbread. Overall, the food was extremely good! The sauce and slaw was perfect. Everything looked so basic but was packed with great flavor. Now for the service, they could use more work. Asked for lemon for my water and it took a bit to receive. Also, field peas, greens and corn didn’t come with the rest of the food. They brought it afterwards. Again, food was good and service could some work. Check it out.

It was my first visit. The manager told us that several items on the menu were not available which was disappointing. The pan seared trout was delicious but the braised collard greens were salty. Didn’t order dessert.

Food was fantastic! I had the chicken thigh, mac and cheese, and greens. My husband had the burger and for dessert we had the peach chess pie. I highly recommend this restaurant.
