Comme le nom de ce nouveau restaurant situé au rez-de-chaussée du South Place Hotel le suggère, le South Place Chop House s'inspire des steakhouses traditionnels de Londres, en associant de bons plats à un service engageant et une bonne ambiance. L'établissement a fait peau neuve avec de nombreuses casseroles en cuivre classiques, des œuvres d'art de Thorbjørn Andersen, ainsi qu'un choix de banquettes intimistes et de grandes tables communes. Gather your friends and family for a feast crafted by our Head Chef, Rob Grist, featuring all favourite Sunday classics—with a signature South Place twist. Choose from Corn-Fed Free-Range Chicken, 21-Day Dry-Aged Pork Ribeye, or treat yourself to the luxurious 28-Day Dry-Aged Whole Ribeye (available for an additional £10 per person). For those feeling adventurous, our signature dish- the Carne a Trois for two boasts all three meats. Enjoy Duck Fat Roast Potatoes, Cauliflower Cheese, and Yorkshire Puddings, served with a variety of vegetables and our rich, decadent Marmite & Bone Marrow Gravy.

Ran out of bread for breakfast, had to settle down with a “healthy” piece of white toast for my English Breakfast. Obviously could not order Avocado on Sourdough bread. So no wholegrain toast, no sourdough. There is an M&S literally 100 meters from the restaurant, can easily be sorted. Parts of the order were forgotten (ice, lemon, some condiments, the side sausages, no salt, no pepper on the table), had almost a buffet / cantina-like experience. Been doing business breakfast meetings at this place for a long time, switching over to Bread Street Kitchen just opposite (although it gets louder there). Too many balls dropped recently. Not impressed (not to say disappointed).

Nobody else in the restaurant but still took 20 mins to serve a drink. Charged £5 for nuts and added service and a charity donation. We decided not to eat as we didn’t feel that the quality would be good. £42 for 3 drinks in an average bar even though in the city is too expensive

Really disappointing food today. Burger was really underdone, and chips weren’t cooked through. Service was friendly but very slow.

Good enough, but the competition in London is fierce. The service was ok but I won’t be in a mad rush to return.
