Located downtown Bridgeport CT, 29 Markle Ct. Awarded "Best New Restaurant 2023" by the Connecticut Restaurant Associations "CRAZIES Awards". Upscale New American Cuisine, focused on local, coastal ingredients and smoked methods of cooking. Exec Chef, @chefdamondaye.

We gladly accept walk-ins at the bar on a first come first served basis. A 15-minute grace period is allotted to your arrival time should you run late. After 15 minutes your reservation will be released and offered to guests on our waitlist. All guests must be present to be seated. Tables are reserved for one & half hours. For parties of 6 or more, a $25 per person credit card hold is required to confirm your reservation. No shows and or unconfirmed cancellations risk forfeit of held funds. If you would like to book a catering event or a reservation for a larger party (8+), please send an email to restaurant@29marklect.com. All larger party requests must be confirmed and require a credit card. Thank you.

Really nice dinner. Definitely would go back and try some of the larger mains—both of us had sandwiches—wasn’t our intent when going there, just ended up that way. We both had excellent appetizers, black rice and crab balls for my spouse, tomatoes and burrata for me. The bread is delicious too. It was quite loud. And the bench seating is way too high for the tables. I am not exaggerating when I say I put my back out having to lean over to eat. I would ask for a table with two regular seats next time.

What an excellent meal! Everything was fantastic! The food! We wanted to lick our plates. The staff! Charming is the only way to describe all of them….cant wait to go back! Oh, the crab & black rice balls are just special and the shrimp & grits….best grits I ever ate!

From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and a cozy atmosphere. The staff was super attentive, offering friendly service without being intrusive. The menu featured a perfect balance of creative dishes and classic options. One of the menu items opted for the [which was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, were the black rice crab balls with rich flavors that complemented each other perfectly. The portion sizes were generous but well-balanced. We were a party of 6, one had the halibut and remarked how fresh the fish was; another enjoyed the duck and was very impressed by the presentation, seasoning and taste. Overall, it was a memorable meal that exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommend!

This was hands down the best meal my husband and I have had since moving to CT 3 years ago. The food is creative and delicious, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the space is lively and inviting. We will definitely be back.

Had a great meal before a concert at the amphitheater. The snapper for 2 was delicious - I’d never had anything prepared and presented like this beautiful dish!

First time to 29 Markle and it was outstanding! We ended up sitting at the bar (by choice) which was fantastic. It was very lively and all the bartenders and wait staff were super friendly. We had the charred asparagus (good) and the rice & crab balls (excellent) to start. We then got the half bird and the halibut (both were excellent as well). Drinks were fun and tasty too. Service was very good (and they were super busy). I highly recommend this restaurant and I know we will be back!
