Deep in Theatreland, 28-50 Covent Garden is the face of the St Martin's Courtyard dining quarter. Elaborating on the group's famous DNA of hand-picked wine lists, curated by passionate in-house sommeliers, this big-sister of the famous Marylebone brasserie features a plethora of accessible and high-end wines by the glass - some exclusive in the UK (such as the Chateau de Candie from the 28-50's own French vineyard). The menu is from Julian Baris, doing what he does best - simple, seasonal modern European cuisine, cooked from-scratch on the premises, and of course big steaks juicy steaks, and lots of seafood. Design by Richard Green fuses the 28-50 no-nonsense wine workshop feel with a nod to all-things bling - bubblegum pink and sky-blue velvet armchairs at every carrara marble table. 3 dining rooms, the connoisseur's wine-bar, an extravagant champagne bar and a killer soundtrack make 28-50 Covent Garden a must for pre and post theatre or just a evening of seriously relaxed fun.

Great place to meet friends, excellent value set menu, never crazy busy so you can relax, are never rushed from the table, it's comfortable and you can chat comfortably without struggling to hear over the usual noise.

The evening started off well. We chose 2 starters, 2 small plates, and 2 desserts from the discounted London Restaurant Festival menu. These were all tasty and good value for money. The issue was with the level of service after the starters and small plates were served. We waited an hour before the desserts came. When they did, there was no apology or explanation for the delay. Considering the restaurant wasn't busy, it was surprising to wait so long. Also, the 2 for 1 cocktails that were included in the offer tasted very sweet and watered-down. If the service could be improved, this could be a very pleasant restaurant to visit, but there needs to be a lot of improvements from the front-of-house staff.

Really quiet but great value. Had the lunch menu and it really was good value for being central london. Food was OK. Ambience bit missing as was so quiet, but overall a nice environment. The waiter was lovely and not pushy at all

I had a brunch on Saturday 2 June, the service and food was excellent! Highly recommended. Will definitely be going back.

The food was excellent and service spot on. I needed to use the disabled toilet and the equipment was excellent for me as a disabled person. As a vegetarian, the menu was good with various choices.

The venue pleasant. Service was slow though some staff were nice. Food ok, the Cod was inedible. The happy hour drinks offer was good value

Met a friend for lunch in a Saturday. We had the 3 course lunch set menu. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere was lovely and we weren’t rushed at all. Great experience and really good value.
