Deep in Theatreland, 28-50 Covent Garden is the face of the St Martin's Courtyard dining quarter. Elaborating on the group's famous DNA of hand-picked wine lists, curated by passionate in-house sommeliers, this big-sister of the famous Marylebone brasserie features a plethora of accessible and high-end wines by the glass - some exclusive in the UK (such as the Chateau de Candie from the 28-50's own French vineyard). The menu is from Julian Baris, doing what he does best - simple, seasonal modern European cuisine, cooked from-scratch on the premises, and of course big steaks juicy steaks, and lots of seafood. Design by Richard Green fuses the 28-50 no-nonsense wine workshop feel with a nod to all-things bling - bubblegum pink and sky-blue velvet armchairs at every carrara marble table. 3 dining rooms, the connoisseur's wine-bar, an extravagant champagne bar and a killer soundtrack make 28-50 Covent Garden a must for pre and post theatre or just a evening of seriously relaxed fun.

A beautiful restaurant with great food. Service is a little slow. I wish waiters would collect empty plates right away

Really enjoyed the Spinach and Ricotta Tortellini followed by the Rhubarb and Strawberry Crumble. We will definitely use again when in the area.

3 of us went for drinks and dinner on a Monday night using a 50% off food offer. They have happy hour cocktail list of 2 for 1 from 5-8pm, but we had to ask for the list even though one of us had arrived ahead and was half way through his negroni, but they did "honour" the offer he ordered another one! We had nuts, prawns in garlic and burrata to start with 2 of us ordering burgers and the other had pollock. Plus 2 bottles of rose wine. We asked for the burgers to be cooked medium and we waited over an hour after we had finished the starters before they arrived. Unfortunately, the burgers were practically raw, so we didn't really eat them. The waiters were all very friendly and helpful and did complain to the kitchen about the burgers, which they said they removed from the bill but I don't think they did as we still paid around £57 a head for what was a pretty average dinner. It's a shame, we were big fans of the old Maddox Street branch and the one in Marylebone, but this one didn't quite hit the mark on this occasion.

Very pleasant staff and value for money fixed price menu which included a glass of wine. We visited at lunch time so was pretty quiet inside. Overall very good and would recommend.

Great place to meet friends, excellent value set menu, never crazy busy so you can relax, are never rushed from the table, it's comfortable and you can chat comfortably without struggling to hear over the usual noise.

The evening started off well. We chose 2 starters, 2 small plates, and 2 desserts from the discounted London Restaurant Festival menu. These were all tasty and good value for money. The issue was with the level of service after the starters and small plates were served. We waited an hour before the desserts came. When they did, there was no apology or explanation for the delay. Considering the restaurant wasn't busy, it was surprising to wait so long. Also, the 2 for 1 cocktails that were included in the offer tasted very sweet and watered-down. If the service could be improved, this could be a very pleasant restaurant to visit, but there needs to be a lot of improvements from the front-of-house staff.

Really quiet but great value. Had the lunch menu and it really was good value for being central london. Food was OK. Ambience bit missing as was so quiet, but overall a nice environment. The waiter was lovely and not pushy at all
