My 4th time there and it never disappoints! From the time you get greeted at the door until you leave it is an awesome experience. The staff works extra hard to make you feel welcome and at home. The food is incredible and you feel as if you are dining in Cuba. The atmosphere, music, small restaurant feel is perfect. Iggy the host is great! LuLu waited on us this time and she was great! Can’t wait to get back there. Paella Cubana, ox tail, Congri are my go to’s, but everything is delicious. If you like Cuban food, you will love this place! Make a reservation or you probably won’t get in.

Overall we had a very good date night experience. The staff is very attentive & pleasant. Shared shrimp empanadas, very good. Entrees were ‘pork’ chops with pineapple and Vaca Frita. Portions good, with 2 sides of our choice. The Flan was very creamy & good, as was the Cafe con leche/latte. The only issue, we asked if the chops were pork chops & told yes & they were actually ham (like baked ham) chops. So BF disappointed, not a fan of ham. Vaca Frita a bit saltier than I like, but still good. Place is small, tables close; cute decor. A good choice if looking for Cuban or something other than Italian in the area for a nice night out.

This was our second visit to 1958. We enjoyed the croquettes, octopus and chorizo. We dined with friends and it was the first time they visited. John, our waiter, was attentive, friendly and knows the menu well. We all enjoyed our entrees (Salmon, Ropa Vieja, Paella and Arroz con Pollo). We also enjoyed the sangria and mojitos that John offered to make with the liquor we brought. The desserts were outstanding. We enjoyed the coffee too. I highly recommend this establishment. They also just opened in Sarasota! John made our whole experience even better!

This was our first visit to 1958 Cuban restaurant. The empanadas and octopus appetizers were amazing. We tried 4 different entrees and everyone was beyond impressed with the quality and authenticity of the dishes. The service was fantastic- John was our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful. We ended out meal with a most delicious flan that tasted as if your favorite Tia made it! We will definitely return to try the rest of the delicious entrées offered.
