I have never had such shocking food in any restaurant. A tiny narrow piece of salmon was burnt with charcoal edges and tpped with some dust to cover the burns. Consequently the salmon was dry and horrible. It was served with half a slice of zucchini and one tiny broccoli flowerette. For $40 it was a total ripoff and something easily made at home with more veg for under $15. My partners ' steak also was over cooked and shrivelled. Service did not exist, only taking the order and bringing the plate after a very long wait. I would advise all to avoid this restaurant.

We had the $25 honey glazed salmon with a glass of wine. It was delicious, well presented & the wine was reasonably good quality as well. We also had sticky date pudding for dessert which was also quite tasty. All in all a great meal & exceptionally great value.

Friendly staff but perhaps lacking slightly in training. But nothing that was an issue. Food was very well presented and tasted wonderful. The atmosphere was pleasantly nice. Food was prepared fast and was a good price (slightly costly but the tasted and look was very good).

What a beautiful atmosphere! A gorgeous warm wood heater on entering the restaurant, amazing food and outstanding service what more could you want. I will certainly be back

Enjoyable night. Price affordable with nothing over $50. Staff were absolute lovely and welcoming. Thanks to them, i had a very enjoyable birthday dinner!

I loved staying at Rydges Hobart and the building is beautiful plus the atmosphere at the lounge is very nice. I ordered the special lamb plus glass of fine online and came to the restaurant and the young lady asked me what I was after so I told her that. She showed me to a table where I sat for 10-15 minutes waiting thinking she would come back soon to ask me for my wine preference. When she came she asked if I was ready to order and I repeated what I said before. The food was delicious. Perhaps some more attentive staff or training of staff would make the whole experience excellent.

Lovely dining space, fire on so warm and cosy for a winters night. Not overly busy which was nice. Soft back ground music for ambience but could talk and hear conversations which was great Suprised wait service seemed slow. Probably 25 minutes before we had someone come take drink /meal orders. But then drinks / food quick to arrive after that. We were checked on for more drinks / dessert. Table cleaned promptly after service. I had lamb shank special. The lamb was melt in mouth. Fresh delish vegetables and a divine sauce. Great cooking from the chef! Would certainly go again despite the slow start.
