The restaurant was not crowed and there looked to be plenty of staff. Our service was very slow and the server didn’t seem to know the menu. The drink we each ordered was fantastic as well as the beet salad. The shrimp risotto was great but the prime rib was only okay. Unfortunately the prime rib was what we were looking forward to.

Our server was horrible Took 20 mins to get our first drink, appetizers soup came out with the entree and all she said was sorry, did not offer to comp us on the soup. We wanted a bottle of wine with dinner she never stopped by and asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. We both ordered steaks and had to ask for steak knives. Food was ok - both got steaks and quality of meat was equivalent to aldi. It was a birthday dinner and super disappointing!

If you haven’t tried the Walleye fish fry- you should! The fish was hot and crispy- great flavor. Loved our window table.

The Chicken was outstanding and the serve was exactly what you would want. There when you need them and not when you don't. I entertained customers and we were able to talk without interruptions or a noisy restaurant. Thank you 1878 for the amazing meal!

The view and service was outstanding, we went for the lobster special which was very good. My husband also had the shrimp and risotto dish. The shrimp was done perfectly. Only wish items on menu were marked GF, vegan etc.. I’m GF always looking for a good restaurant with options. We will be back!

We had a new server and she should be shadowing still I feel. She only had our table and one other couple she was waiting on. We had to ask about the specials, we had to ask for our plates to be cleared, she didn’t bring a steak knife after she said she would so I used a butter knife to cut my filet. Had to ask for drink refills. My lobster was extremely small for the price. However, everything tasted wonderfully and beautiful scenery.

Had family in town and enjoyed tailspin Tuesday specials at 1878. Service was prompt, pleasant and efficient. Food was presented well and tasted great. Try the pork belly burnt end appetizer - cool presentation and everyone liked them.
