We had a mixed experience. Our server was quite good. The steak was amazing. We have a vegetarian entree that was, however, not good; tasteless. We mentioned this to our server and he did not offer much in the way of being able to remedy this. We ate some of the Cauliflower steak entree and left most. We assumed they would remove it from the bill but that was not offered. We just let it go.

NY Strip tender, juicy and cooked to temp. Side of Diver Scallop wonderful. Need to add as an entree.

Gave the place a few stars because the steaks were excellent so kudos to the chef. But the service was definitely lacking. Our server spoke too fast, wasn't attentive, didn't ask everyone at the table for drink orders (took one person's request and then left before the rest of us got a word out), then forgot to pick up the drinks (it took forever), and reached across a guest's face/plate to place a wine glass. Server was asked if seeded rolls had nuts (one of us is allergic) and he very rapidly stated he can't guarantee no nuts - we understand this but he didn't inquire back in the kitchen either. We spoke to a [older]manager who went out of his way to have some french bread warmed up and brought to us as it had no seeds and was fine (he mentioned his own wife has a gluten issue and he understood our nut concerns). Thank you manager (wish I got your name!). Anyway, for the expense of this restaurant, we expected much higher end service and allergy accommodation. We might go again for the steak but hopefully get better service.

Celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary at 1875. It was the first time there for us and a great choice for our special night out. We made the reservation a week ahead for a Saturday night and the earliest reservation available was 8:00. Clearly you need to plan early for a weekend reservation! I chose one of the evening specials, scallops on garlic mashed with grilled asparagus. Every bite was pure deliciousness! My husband ordered the highly recommended ribeye and it did not disappoint. It was grilled to exactly the temperature he ordered. He also had the corn ragout and baked potato. The potato came with a side dish assortment of toppings (butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon), a very nice touch. Being too full to order dessert we were pleasantly surprised when our sweet server, Marcie, brought us a anniversary decorated plate with chocolate covered strawberries to top off our celebration dinner. We stopped at the restaurant bar on the way out and I ordered a chocolate martini made to perfection by bartender Drew. Couldn’t ask for a better celebration dinner to celebrate our anniversary! Treat yourself to 1875: The Steakhouse and I’m sure you will agree.

My boyfriend wanted to order a steak, but our server basically told him no and told him to order the steak that was $20 more expensive. He ordered it medium well, and it definitely came out as rare/medium rare. It was very nasty, and very expensive. We wished we went somewhere else.
