First time here and we will be back. Service was great. Food delicious and well timed. We’ve already referred friends!

Beautiful space; friendly staff. Seasonal soup was delicious as were oysters with bacon cream. Salmon and filet mignon entrees were satisfying. Service was rather slow and it appeared staff need more training. We did not receive utensils and hot foods were slid across table. Creme brulee dessert was delightful, but coffee was less than stellar. It was served with milk rather than cream and lacked warmth and body. Overall, a pleasant experience. Will most likely return at later date to see if kinks have been ironed out of service. Work is needed to claim “Midlothian’s Best”, but we are rooting for 1870!

Really nice place for a special occasion dinner. Great cocktails and wine selection, and the food was very good. I personally think there was too much going on with the oysters. I would have preferred simple oysters on the half shell with a nice mignonette or horseradish. We would order the lobster bisque everyday. The steaks were perfectly cooked, and at our desired temperatures. The sides were outstanding. We would definitely go back!

We had a great time celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday with the help of Riley our server! She was great! Make sure to order the prime ribeye… it was fantastic!

Fantastic place with a ton of ambiance. A little crowded and noisy in the main dining area do to open space and high ceiling. Overall would definitely go back. Steaks are wonderful!!

I’ll start by saying the food was amazing! Our reservation was for 7:30 and we did not get our salad until 8:30. Server asked if we had our salad then told us it would be comped. Dinner finally came, again great. Ordered dessert to go. We were told it would be comped due to service. It was but our bill did not reflect comped salads. We were ready to leave so did not argue bill. Again, great food but service was not desirable.

I made a same day reservation for Friday night and was pleased to get a table for 6:45pm. My husband and I ordered the 2 different soups, the hanger steak and the pork chop as well as a glass of wine and a mixed drink. As I told the manager, my pork chop was probably better than the one I had recently had at Tyler Florence's restaurant in San Francisco. I will definitely say, though, that the cinnamon bread pudding was a big disappointment. It smelled terrific and the flavor was ok but I guess that I expected more height and it was flat and compact like a homemade brownie. All in all, I would be happy to go back but I would try to go upstairs to see what that is like. The main floor is rather cozy and when all the tables are seated, it is rather loud. It's not a place I would recommend for a first date as it can be difficult to talk.
