Fantastic food and service - restaurant when full gets quite loud. But it is really a wonderful dining experience! Our table had scallops, steaks and the soup and salad. Highly recommend the truffle fries.

Great for our first time back to this venue since the new owner and total remodel. Place is modern great comfortable and cozy. Service was excellent. Drinks wine were top notch. The food was outstanding. Appetizers of oysters Rockefeller and kale Caesar salad were great. Salmon was perfectly cooked and on bed of rice with fresh beans. My wife had scallops on mushroom risotto also delicious. We were thoroughly surprised and pleased with the whole evening. Especially the surprise peanut butter pie for our anniversary with a candle. Thank you Jay and staff for a great evening. We will be back. Highly recommend.

Love the vibe, food was great, fantastic Wednesday wine special. Server spoke so softly we couldn’t hear anything she said - but she meant well.

I went to dinner with a group of friends. The restaurant was quiet and not crowded. There was nice soft music playing and we were seated almost promptly. There was a bit of a language barrier with our waiter but was not difficult to figure out and he was so attentive and accurate with our orders. He explained the menu in detail, gave recommendations, and ensured we were comfortable and taken care of. It was an overall great experience. The food was superb. It was my second time there and will definitely go again.

This was our first visit to 1799 Prime. We were looking forward to our visit and the hope of finding another nice restaurant in Old Town since we live there. We eat out at least 3 nights a week. We are always looking for special places. The food was good. We had a lovely waitress. Thank you Taylor. It is a loud restaurant. Here is what ruined the night. We will NEVER go again and we will make sure we tell everyone about this inexcusable and unprofessional treatment. We ordered a bottle of wine from the wine list that was $90. When we received the check we were charged $210 for the bottle of wine. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager with the wine list in hand said the price on the list was wrong. He asked if we would “negotiate” and pay $140. My husband politely and quietly said we did not think we should have to “negotiate” for their price error that is clearly printed in the wine list. He left with the bill that had been placed at the table. Taylor returned with the revised bill. He charged us the $140. Being sophisticated people and not willing to make a scene we paid the bill. As we departed, we walked by the manager and my husband clearly and politely articulated our dismay at his action. We assured him that we would never return and would make sure everyone we know in Old Town knows about this unfortunate and unprofessional action by the manager. BTW - we did take care of Taylor giving her a nice tip. She was lovely.

I took my husband here for his birthday and we absolutely loved everything about this venue. The atmosphere was classy, beautiful, and inviting. The service was consistently friendly and efficient. The food and signature cocktails were absolutely delicious. Please follow the dress code to respect the atmosphere 🙏🏽

Everything from the setting to service to drinks to food was beyond wonderful. What a gem when you visit DC. A short Uber from Pentagon City will not leave you disappointed…do yourself a favor and experience this place.
