Named for the year that Dr. John Anderson purchased the land upon which the resort now stands, 1796 Room has now been re-launched as a signature steak and chophouse, serving steaks, chops, fish and poultry of the highest quality.

1796 uses only the highest quality 21-day aged USDA prime beef. Our meats are prepared at 1700° on our infrared broiler ensuring juiciness, tenderness and flavor.

All entrées are served with our signature grilled artichoke, and “shared” side dishes are available à la carte along with a tasty dessert selection freshly prepared in-house by our pastry team.

Our world-class wine list is designed to match the quality of our food selection, and our professional staff is trained to recommend the perfect wine pairing with your meal.

We ordered medium well steaks because we were told that medium would be red. We wanted pink steaks. When they came, they were well done. They offered to rec cook them, but we had already eaten half of them. It was very disappointing. Steaks were so expensive.

While having a limited menu, the options are prepared to perfection. Sides are family style, making for an intimate experience perfect for a special occasion. The service really is fantastic.

We at at 1796 for our annual vacation dinner; the food was out of this world and the service was spectacular! I would highly recommend 1796 to anyone visiting the area that wants an upscale, perfectly executed meal!

Thank you to Trent and everyone at 1796! Celebrated our 40th anniversary with an amazing meal of filet with lobster. Best steak ever. Bread pudding with bourbon sauce was delicious!

My Penn Sate college friends and I had a fantastic dinner at 1796 while stayong at the Bedford Springs Resort & Spa. The ambience is so much with very historic vibes. My friends said that the steak entrees they had was the best steak they had ever eaten. Another had the Roast Duckling. Our waitress, Michelle was very personable and gave me a a piece of Death by Chocolate Cake for my birthday. I definitely want to eat here again!

Had a fabulous dinner. No complaints from starters thru dessert. Everything was delicious. Our server,Hannah was great. Will definitely ask for her next time we go!
