It’s a nice place and the service was excellent. The food was meh. Of particular dissapointment were the flatbreads. We had the fig and arugula which was too sweet and the Margherita was way undercooked. On the other hand the calamari was perfectly done with a crisp light coating.

I have never experienced what I experienced in any restaurant until yesterday. The waiter brought over two glasses of water to my table. Immediately upon the waters being placed on the table ,a bug fell into my water glass. . I placed my glass of water away from me so when he returned I would inform him of it. He came and noticed the glass of water with the bug floating inside and he decided to remove the bug and placed the same water that had the bug floating around for about ten to fifteen minutes for me to drink. Unacceptable and unforgettable.

This is one of the best restaurants in New Rochelle, NY. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 children. The service was outstanding as was every appetizer and entree. I can recommend the fried calamari, dumplings, pastas, grilled octopus, pork shank and burgers. The french fries are the best ever. My only complaint is my cocktail was small and mostly ice. Otherwise this restaurant gets a 5 star rating.

If you’re looking for good Italian food in New Rochelle, 179 Bar and Grill will do it… My family and I wanted to get out the house and enjoy something good midweek, and all our cravings were satisfied at 179. Staff was polite and friendly and gave us suggestion and favorites. Thank you!

This is our third time here & it never disappoints. We’ve gone for two birthdays & our anniversary. They always do something special to acknowledge our special occasion. The staff is particularly helpful & solicitous of my husband who has a disability. The food tonight was absolutely delicious, Spanish paella & the Mediterranean branzino. Not to worry, though, we are looking forward to our next visit!
