1665 Riverside Brasserie, The Orangery & Whispering Angel Terrace.

Named after the date the Mitre was built, 1665 is our stunning riverside brasserie. 1665 has a centerpiece central bar, wine room, and beautiful riverside Whispering Angel terrace on the Thames. Sample dishes include Devonshire Crab Bruschetta, Harissa Spiced Mayo, Lime and Apple; Rib of Beef on the Bone to Share; Raspberry and White Chocolate Soufflé.

Standard Seating bookings will be allocated inside 1665 and the Orangery. Outdoor Seating bookings will be allocated on our Whispering Angel terrace. Please note reservations are for dining only and that we are a cashless business.

For Afternoon Tea, please book our Coppernose Bar.

The food was excellent but the service really poor. There were lots of people working there so it shouldn’t have been. It took a long time to get drinks, we had to cancel our final drinks order as it just took so long. There was a table next to us who were getting very annoyed about their food being so slow, pacing around the room etc which took away from our enjoyment. I had been asked when booking if it was an occasion for which I said it was my wife’s birthday but there was no acknowledgment of that. For an expensive meal the service really let it down.

We were so grateful to have been given a table on the rotunda because of a cancellation! We felt really comfortable with our newborn being with us. The food and drink were amazing as always and the service as well! Thank you so much we can’t wait to come back again!

Very good food, lovely interior design and all is served very fast. I put 4 stars only because waitress forgot to bring water after I’ve asked although place wasn’t full.

Really good quality food, nicely presented. Very helpful and polite staff. Great views of the river. Would recommend :)

The service was disappointing, too many staff involved in serving one table and no coordination between the kitchen and table. Had to wait for too long for the whole range of food. Prices charged do not reflect the experience

Went for Sunday Roast. Parsnips were rock hard, beef was thin slices of tasteless meat with fat on it. Pork belly was overly fatty and inedible. Went in January and was much better so not sure what has gone wrong.

Lovely venue, nice atmosphere and beautiful setting, food tastes nice and is hot, the vegetarian onion tart was a bit bland needed something extra but well executed. Service let’s this place and we’ve been a number of times and it’s the same each time. the servers do not pay attention to the customers we had to keep getting attention for every course when the servers did come over they were polite and responsive but we would have ordered more cocktails and wine if the service was more attentive. No water offered when we sat down we were left for a long time eventually I said could we please have some water and order a drink. It’s such a shame it’s a stunning place but so let down by the service we are happy to pay the price for the experience but it feels less valued because if the service.

Promised so much and sadly failed to deliver. Booked as a special family get together, with choice highly influenced by a Vegan menu (& that referenced on the notes for my booking). Disappointingly on day only 1 vegan choice offered with one relative having to eat hot vegetables as an alternative. Whilst young staff were apologetic and trying their best the head front of house came across as very arrogant and not willing to acknowledge our disappointment- rather telling me that my lunch booking (which they accepted for 3pm!) should have been earlier! Alongside this the beer my husband ordered was out, no napkins on the table, no salt & pepper!? Really at the price the restaurant charges, with a higher cost of living & so much choice and competition the restaurant has to do so much better!!
