The service was slow, lackluster and not knowledgeable. The oysters Rockefeller were baked on the top but the spinach and oysters were cold and the fries were old and refried to warm and crisp but chewy mush in the moddle. Disappointed because the bar and bartender were nice:)

Mediocre at Best I recently dined at 1229 Shine and, unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. I started with the Deviled Eggs, which were supposed to be a twist on the classic with lobster salad. However, the eggs were disappointingly dry, lacking the moisture that makes a deviled egg enjoyable. The lobster salad on top did little to enhance the dish. The Lobster Slider, which turned out to be the biggest letdown of the evening. It was almost impossible to find any lobster in the lobster salad. The slider mostly consisted of a toasted brioche bun, with just a hint of lobster flavor that left me searching for more substance. Lastly, the Shrimp + Grits, a southern classic that I was really looking forward to. Unfortunately, the dish was unbalanced—while the shrimp themselves were well-seasoned, there were only about 5 or 6 shrimp on the plate. The rest of the dish was a heap of cheesy grits with small bits of ham, which overwhelmed the few shrimp that were there. Overall, the meal was a huge disappointment, especially considering the price tag of over $100. With so many other dining options in the area, I can confidently say that there are much better places to spend your money. 1229 Shine did not live up to its hype, and I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Awesome experience as always at Shine. We were a group of 12 for lunch. The service and food could not have been any better.

The food was really good. We would place a to go order in the future. Our dinner was on a Sunday. Not too many customers and service was still extremely slow.

Staff was great! Especially Cameron the manager! The chef even came out to explain where the oysters were from. We had the tuna tacos, ceviche, hush puppies, oyster shots, and oyster rocker-fellers. A dirty Tito martini and a Dos Equis on draft!

We wanted to really to love this place but it fell a little short. The Tuna Crudo was supposed to come with Cilantro but they used Arugula instead. It was ok but would have preferred the Cilantro. The lobster slider was ok. Not much taste and a little dry. Didn’t care for the lemon zest shaved on the top. The Brussels spouts could have been cooked a little more and less oil. The fry basket was ok but the batter was a little heavy. The Cole slaw was nothing special. Our server was friendly. It looks like they might have a nice happy hour. If we tried it again it would probably be for the happy hour.

Everything was great except the wait. About an hour from the time we ordered appetizer until we got our food. That’s too long. We had 5:45pm reservation and all was good checking in. Server was nice and knowledgeable but spread thin with long periods between return visits. Don’t go there if you’re in a hurry. If you have time it will be a great experience. Prices very reasonable for the quality. Don’t recommend if you have younger children that you have to entertain until the food arrives.

Great restaurant! Loved the indoor area as well as the outdoor seating options. We sat indoors at bar type seating that was in front of a large open window so we could see out and listen to the live music. Our kids loved seeing the boat and playing in it after eating. The yard games were a great touch too. Can’t beat the frozen black berry mules!!
