Le premier restaurant Lettuce Entertain You, Grunts respire toujours l’atmosphère funky et le style de vie des années 70 par le style, le décor, la musique, et le menu. Heureusement pour tout le monde, le meilleur plat qui était servi à cette époque l’est encore aujourd'hui. Bien qu'il y ait un large menu tout aussi agréable de savourer que de lire, des plats de prédilection de Grunts sont de retour. Les hamburgers sont sans doute les meilleurs en ville. Le bar à salade propose plus de 50 ingrédients quotidiennement. Les milk-shakes géants sont préparés à la main et viennent avec un arc en ciel de saveurs. Oh ! N’oubliez pas les sandwiches de côtes de porc !

Every year, my family and I look forward to our Zoolight outing, followed by dinner at RJ Grunts. Although they typically only accept reservations for groups of up to six, they allowed me to make multiple reservations with the understanding that seating together wasn’t guaranteed, but they would do their best. When our group of 20 arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we were seated close together. The staff was incredibly accommodating, and we had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

We had fantastic service from Norma! She was very attentive and friendly. I loved my tuna melt. The quality of the tuna was excellent. The only negative was that I asked for the cottage fries crispy. As typically happens there, some come out crispy and some come out soggy. Perhaps this is due to an incorrect temperature of the oil, the potatoes not cut uniformly, and/or the fryer being too full. Joe’s Stone Crab gets all of their chips crispy. Perhaps you could ask them how they do it. It’s disappointing that only about half the chips are crispy. It’s an easy ongoing problem.

The food in the service was amazing. Our server was Nate. And it was a great guy and explained everything on the menu correctly. I will definitely be coming back

We've been coming to RJ Grunt's for many years, and have always enjoyed our visits. But it seems like they are slipping a little bit. On our Nov 14 2024 visit, my Gruntburger was overcooked (requested medium rare, burger was medium well), it also seemed like there were far fewer onion straws on top. My wife ordered chicken wings, and they arrived lukewarm at best. He did have the wings re-fired, and the second round were much warmer (still wouldn't call them "hot"). The place was crowded (lots of families!) and it seemed that our server had a lot of tables, so they get a pass on this one. I'm sure they will pretty busy the next month, when ZooLights starts, as they are steps away from Lincoln Park Zoo.

We were on time for our reservation. Upon talking to the host stand checking in our party of 4 I stated 3 people and high chair. She looked at me blankly and called over another gentleman who told me I didn’t state a high chair on the reservation. I informed him this was an open table reservation and that that isn’t an option. I can state an allergy or a celebration but the seating needs are not a field to note. He stated that they had a table but would not accommodate a high chair due to fire regulations and that we’d need to wait. It was 6:15 and we have a 3yr old and an 11month old… waiting longer is not great in an overcrowded bar area. When I agreed to put the child on our lap if we could be seated he told me they just gave away our table so we’d have to wait no matter what. So- no high chair. Slow service. Overcrowded. And mediocre food- it was a disappointing experience all around.

We were running late, and while we communicated that to the team, the staff was able to accommodate us without any issues. The food took longer to come out than expected, but we greatly appreciate the teams ability to squeeze us in and give us an incredible meal!
