Situé au cœur du typique Chinatown de Toronto, le R&D est un restaurant urbain décontracté, dirigé par le premier gagnant de MasterChef Canada, Eric Chong et son mentor, Alvin Leung, propriétaire d'un restaurant étoilé au Guide Michelin. L'élégant intérieur du R&D reflète sa double nature : ouvert et animé, à l'atmosphère intime.

Au R&D, les plats orientaux sont alliés au style occidental, sous la forme de plats chinois modernes à partager, où les ingrédients classiques sont traités d'une façon avant-gardiste. Le menu éclectique dispose de plats composés de bouchées, comme le Fun Guo de Grand-Père et le CSB (char siu bao). I always love visiting R&D, the food and service are always exceptional. My friends loved the lamb spiducci, spring rolls and fried chicken.

Best fried rice ever! Definitely stole the show. Everything else was great too as we had bao buns, spring rolls, shrimp toast and lamb sticks.

We had the skate dish for two people and it was outstanding. Although we had it with R& D’s cavatelli which is great it would probably go well with a rice dish. R & D is now our favorite restaurant in the city.

We had such a spectacular meal here. Every dish was so flavourful, beautifully presented and delicious.. Service and friendliness were top notch. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all the team there for making our evening so wonderful

Absolutely amazing!! We had our anniversary dinner there and they were so lovely with complimentary champagne. Also the server was so attentive and friendly. The food was amazing! Loved the Brussel sprouts and the grandpa dumplings! Also eggplant was great too. Cocktails were delish!

This was a return visit for us so we ordered some small plates of favourites that we've had in the past and we tried some new dishes. We always enjoy their cocktail combinations. The Lavender Haze is a previous favourite and we also tried the delicious Panton Peach - a drink that tastes like summer. The Pork & Crab Siu Mai, the Kalbi Beef Bao, and the Wok Fried Long Bean were just as delicious as on our previous visits. On this visit we also tried the Foie Gras Sou and the @Wok_Lobster and both dishes will join our favourites. The Foie Gras Sou was a wonderful combination of both sweet and savoury. The lobster was perfectly cooked served on a bed of vermicelli and the dish was served covered with a glass cloche filled with apple wood smoke. It really contained layers of wonderful flavours like we've come to expect from R&D's other dishes. We were pretty full from dinner so we just shared a dish of their Ube Ice Cream for dessert which was very smooth and flavourful and definitely tasted homemade. The wait staff here is consistently attentive and helpful when ordering.

Great food, great cocktails, great service. Dylan was very attentive and surprised us with some really good cocktails. Will be back.
