Situé au cœur du typique Chinatown de Toronto, le R&D est un restaurant urbain décontracté, dirigé par le premier gagnant de MasterChef Canada, Eric Chong et son mentor, Alvin Leung, propriétaire d'un restaurant étoilé au Guide Michelin. L'élégant intérieur du R&D reflète sa double nature : ouvert et animé, à l'atmosphère intime.

Au R&D, les plats orientaux sont alliés au style occidental, sous la forme de plats chinois modernes à partager, où les ingrédients classiques sont traités d'une façon avant-gardiste. Le menu éclectique dispose de plats composés de bouchées, comme le Fun Guo de Grand-Père et le CSB (char siu bao). Dégustez également des plats à partager comme le Meilleur Canard de la Ville et le Poulet Frit aux Cronuts Glacés. Enfin, une sélection novatrice de cocktails accompagnera les mets ludiques et audacieux.

Overrated restaurant - was expecting a more classy environment, all the more because I have found R&D on a top-notch restaurants list from OpenTable.. Disappointed by food being fair but too spicy, music too loud.

Amazing experience with the summerlicious menu! The value was exceptional and so were the dishes! We got the privilege of getting a chef’s table spot and the staff were so lovely and knowledgeable. They explained every dish and were super friendly.

Creative and tasty food. Our server was very helpful and attentive. Their staple R&D fried rice has a crunchy topping and small mushrooms - we would recommend it. Nice local beers - we enjoyed the rice lager.

Service was really great! Very attentive and made sure to adhere to our dietary restrictions. The food was really delicious as well. The Shiba Inu cocktail was a bit too sweet for my liking but otherwise, a very enjoyable experience! Would definitely love to come back again sometime soon 💕

I always come here and I feel the everything is going down hill since they went on the Michelin Bib quality is bad. This time I booked the reservation as a birthday celebration but no one acknowledge it but the table beside me the server did something special for them. My food was so salty. The chicken is already salty then the crumble on top was super salty to a point my tongue went numb for the night.

We went for Summerlicious 2024 and it was great! Food tasted amazing, drinks were great and our server was very wonderful to us.
