Pure Spirits est fier de vous servir une sélection d'huîtres des côtes Est et Ouest du Canada ainsi que des spécialités uniques de l'étranger. Tenue décontractée et goût prononcé pour la bonne nourriture sont de rigueur. At the slightest sight of summer, we open the doors to our patio where you can sit and take in the beautiful Victorian Industrial architecture that the site is famous for. Grab a seat at the Oyster Bar where you can mingle with a Chef shucking your oysters to order and teaching you about the amazing flavours and how to best match it to our selection of local beers.

The food is alright but a bit overpriced. They charge extra for horseradish and lemon on top of the oysters we already ordered. The server is somewhat rude and rushing us. The environment is amazing tho.

We took two out of town guests for lunch today (Tuesday). Service was excellent but three of the four dishes were very disappointing. Two mussels and French fries were not good - the broth tepid rather than piping hot and so much garlic that all other tastes were obliterated. The mussels were dry, rubbery and very gritty and the fries were like the burnt ends of batch. The fish tacos were tasteless but the crab cakes were superb. Didn't bother to stay for desert. All in all I will think twice about taking guests there in the future. Pity, as prior experiences were all much better.

Please know, we would have been happy to replace anything that was not to your preference. Saying that, we assure you that our Chef and his team put a lot of care and consideration when sharing comforting and delicious cuisine. Lovely place for a pre-theatre lunch. Our server was friendly and helpful, made a good meal suggestion. Our meals were very good - fresh ingredients, tasty and well prepared. Pure Spirits is a regular spot for our Soulpepper dates.

How to describe this place... I proposed to my husband here. Once upon a time I worked here, though it was many MANY years ago. I love this place. I keep coming back because it never dissapoints. On this occasion we brought a friend that had never had an oyster. I know, kind of strange. Ben was our server, and boy did he ever explain every type of oyster and how to eat them. I like that. They KNOW what they serve. Ben was also extremely pleasant and lightly joked around with us, despite being fairly busy that night. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Was unremarkable - the coffee was weak, the lime dry, the hamburger good, the fish tacos average and the asparagus was almost inedible (stalks were vary hard and fibrous) Perhaps if you go for the specialty you will be happy. Service was very pleasant and attentive and the physical space was fun.

There were very few patrons at the restaurant when we were there and it was pleasantly quiet. I don’t know how the noise level would be if the place were busier. The food and the service were top notch.

Our server Michelle was so amazing and patient! It felt like we had dinner at a friends house and it was an amazing. She gets 11/10. Additionally, the food was fantastic, I had the steak frites and my friend enjoyed the Sea bream. Great experience and will return!
