Roll basket was excellent and a nice surprise to notice organic butter. My scallops were just ok, needed more crumbs and seasoning. Need to offer other veggie choice than just green beans. Rice was just ok not a typical pilaf and needed more flavor. Our server Emma was outstanding - very personable. While the bar crowd was there it was noisy but noticeably better when they left. Blueberry cream pie was a nice seasonal choice. The other diners enjoyed the meatloaf and pot roast.

Excellent food and service. Love the old inn atmosphere. Did sit under a dripping ceiling, though, and the noise level was worse than most places - and most places are loud.

Great atmosphere; good basic American classics; too much to finish if you order the extra $12 two sides ( choice of soup : great New England clam chowder, salad or dessert. I wish we could have packed the extras but we had to travel on. Bartender Jim made excellent drinks, reasonably priced and potent. If we’re in the area, we will return.

Meatloaf was good. Chicken pot pie was mediocre. Servers in particular were very loud. Our server kept calling us "my darlings " which I found offensive.

The restaurant has an old time charm and history, the ambiance and food were great, and service was impeccable. My wife has a shellfish allergy and the manager came to the table to talk about her order and checked with the head chef to make sure everything was ok

We've been enjoying Publick house for many years now, and it is charming, cozy and has great food and service! We like to go early or stay after our dinner to walk the property to view all the beautiful landscaping and flowers, their landscaping crew does an amazing job! We had Grace as our waitress last night and she was attentive, and fun to interact with!

I had the turkey dinner. My husband had the roast beef dinner. Portions were generous and both meals delicious. We chose to pay extra for the complete meal and both of us had clam chowder which was also delicious. We took the desert to go and haven’t had it yet. We were too full to eat anymore yesterday so will treat ourselves tonight. Our server was attentive and personable and our food arrived quickly. Prices have risen in all restaurants, in some instances dramatically, but the cost of our meal was reasonable. We’ve eaten at the Publick House in the past but haven’t been back in a long time. So glad we made it back. Definitely worth it and will come again.

The 5 of us had not seen each other in a long time; we wanted to enjoy a nice meal where we could catch up with each other. However, one waiter and a group of 8 right near us were SO loud and obnoxious, we literally could not hear each other. The acoustics are not great in such an old place but this group didn’t care about anyone else. That being said, our waitress, Emily was terrific and all 5 of our meals were absolutely delicious! The bread baskets are phenomenal!
