This was our third visit in recent months. The first two were enjoyable and precipitated our decision to celebrate a birthday on a rare early night out for us. I had been wanting to try the 12-14 oz. lobster with shrimp pesto pasta for awhile and was told by our server that it was the “very best” item she has tried. For $85 it should be, right? The tail was way over-cooked (shriveled up) and very salty. The shrimp were under-cooked and almost mealy. We also ordered crab cakes which, were essentially bad Stove Top stuffing over a couple lumps of crab. To be fair, the Mediterranean salad and Corvaison chardonnay were just fine. The server never came by during the meal to check in on us and she never even gave us the bill, someone else ended up delivering it and cashing us out. There was also no acknowledgment whatsoever that this was a special night for us. Not the end of the world (although it was made very clear on our Open Table reservation), but it was sure the “icing on the cake” for a very disappointing meal at Prime 29. Safe to say we won’t be back anytime soon!

Food was great, but service needed work. Olsi was very nice, but would disappear 20-30 minutes in between times and wasn’t very attentive. I have a severe food allergy and when asked about certain ingredients in the food, I was met with “I think you’ll be okay” and “It should be fine”. I wasn’t reassured. Also, on the website it said gluten free menus could be provided and when I asked he said there isn’t one & was told “there isn’t much on the menu” that I could have that could accommodate my allergies. We expected much more for such an expensive restaurant, again, food was great but the service and hospitality wasn’t as expected.

I recently visited Prime29 during a quiet day, although it was a holiday weekend. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the patio provided a lovely setting with the windows up, allowing a refreshing breeze to flow through. We started with the Tuna and Octopus appetizers, both of which were fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the Watermelon appetizer and Crab Cakes—both dishes were outstanding. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and we look forward to returning!

Ordered cocktails, bartender was excellent. Had AHI tuna first, very well presented and tasted equally good. Second was the Burrata, the cantaloupe was under ripe but did enjoy the fig jam a lot. Had the Calamari third, could only manage one taste and sent it back without being charged. Texture was similar to rubber bands, they need a different supplier of calamari. Fourth was the Oysters Rockefeller, the only taste experienced was toasted bread crumbs, very disappointing, I have made better Rockefeller at home using much larger oysters than they served. We decided to end our dining experience at this point, not willing to go forwards ordering an entre with potential taste disappointments similar to the appetizers. Five cocktails and four appetizers for $195 including the 20% gratuity, good thing we had $100 gift card, I would not return for the out-of-pocket $95 I spent. I have eaten better at other restaurants. I am sure others have had better experiences, but not me this time...

Can’t say enough about the outstanding experience we had last evening. The service was impeccable including our server Mario. The presentation of the salads and dinners were truly chef inspired. Delicious wine and 2 smoked cocktails. All in all wonderful.
