Nous savons que le mot « fusion » a été employé pour désigner un grand nombre de choses, que ce soit l'hamburger Hula comme les lasagnes mexicaines. Et au Poor Calvin's, c'est l'est qui rencontre le sud. Ce restaurant créatif et innovant vous servira des plats que vous n'aurez probablement jamais goûté à Atlanta. Après avoir travaillé dans les cuisines du monde entier, Calvin Phan a voulu faire un peu bouger les choses. Et c'est ainsi que les épices thaï ont été introduites dans le mac'n cheese. Calvin apporte aux ingrédients du sud, notamment au loup de mer et au poulet frit, une touche d'inspiration asiatique créative (et aussi quelques épices). Pour nous, un classique mac'n cheese ne pouvait pas être meilleur, puis nous avons testé la drôle de suggestion de Calvin de ce classique démodé, agrémenté de morceaux de homard et d'une pincée d'épices thaï. Sur la même approche, d'autres plats plus innovants ont été crées jour après jour par Calvin Phan. Son dévouement et son attention aux détails sont inscrits dans chaque plat et dessert. Vous ne serez pas déçu.

Poor Calvin’s is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. I’ve been traveling out of state for many years just to visit this restaurant and it’s always perfect - it’s definitely worth the 2 hour drive! The staff is so welcoming and friendly - and the food is always so good. I’ve celebrated my birthday here and brought my family along - it was great! I also enjoy their brunch menu (they now have a brunch happy hour from 3-4 and it’s amazing!!! - I hope this sticks around) The crab meat grilled cheese and rum punch is top tier! Today, I had my usual crabmeat grilled cheese and lobster wontons (as an appetizer) - and to my surprise, they swapped out the fries for asparagus on the crabmeat dish. This was not a good surprise, unfortunately. I definitely miss the fries and aioli drizzled over them and the sandwich. Today, it was like opening a box of donuts and seeing it filled with broccoli instead of the donuts you wanted :( I sure hope they consider bringing back the fries and aioli - those two items transform the sandwich and experience :) But like I said, this is an amazing restaurant with great staff and I don’t regret my visit today! It was still well worth it.

Absolutely amazing as always . Whether date night or by yourself, grab a seat at the bar and find new friends in the city of Atlanta.

The food & cocktails are always amazing & everytime hubby & I visit ATL, we make it a point to dine here. Lena, our server, was lovely as she walked us through all of the specials, customized our cocktails to our preferences & gave us amazing service throughout our entire dinner. This time around was hubby’s birthday & though we were stuffed from dinner, they surprised him with a delicious Bailey’s coconut ice cream scoop & candle.

Joy was our server and she was top notch! Great recommendations and so fun and funny! This was our second time here and it was just as delicious as last time. I don’t think there’s one bad thing on the menu. And…the mixed drinks are amazing. Go, enjoy, it’s worth it!

Everything was very great, food, service and venue. I am against restaurants including a mandatory gratuity, especially for a party of 4 where there is no notification on Open Table where I was booking. And I am 100% against paying tax on the gratuity. Never before have I been asked to pay tax on the tip I left to the server.

The food is nothing short of incredible—each dish bursting with flavor and creativity. Our wonderful server, Joy, made sure every need was met and offered excellent recommendations that elevated our dining experience. I’ve been going to Poor Calvin’s since I moved to Georgia and I can attest that everything is always amazing from start to finish. Food was delicious and staff service is always above and beyond.
